Celebrity chef Manu Feildel may be best known for his prowess in the kitchen, but he’s done his best to trick people by suggesting he’s launching a new perfume.
The French-Australian chef, who has hosted the reality cooking series My Kitchen Rules since 2010, is known for distracting contestants enamoured by his accent, so it might make sense fans would want to snap up a fragrance designed and used by the TV personality.
On Saturday, Manu, 49, shared a black and white photograph on social media, which showed him staring down the camera while wearing a suit.
Alongside him was a bottle that simply read ‘Saucy By Manu’, indicating he might have a career change as a beauty mogul in mind.
But quick to pick up on the fact it was April Fool’s Day, many people mentioned they knew what he was playing at.
Others attempted their own jokes too, with one person suggesting a bigger bottle would need to be produced, and another imagining that the fragrance ‘would smell like a combination of creme brulee and Old Spice’.
Another simply commented: ‘That would sell.’
While it’s unlikely we will see Saucy hitting shelves anytime soon, Manu’s super fans are able to try his actual range of sauces, which range from Mushroom and Peppercorn, to a Diane Sauce and French Stew.
Manu’s April Fools joke went down a lot better than other celebrities attempts in recent years.
Last year Kerry Katona received a mixed reaction when she pranked her fans with a fake pregnancy announcement, which some labelled as insensitive.
The year before Ant and Dec had said they were going to rebrand and switch things up to call themselves Dec and Ant because it was ‘only fair on the little guy’.

However before getting the chance to fully understand the joke, some fans freaked out thinking the pair were splitting up after they began their post with the line: ‘Some big news for you guys… after 30 long years together we’ve decided a change is needed.’
In 2021 Piers Morgan also joked that he’d been offered his old job on Good Morning Britain back, but eventually had to fess up to his prank.
