Ever watched Pointless and thought, ‘I could do that.’ Well, it’s harder than it looks – thanks to Alexander Armstrong.
Pointless has become one of the most popular teatime game shows since it launched in 2009, originally hosted by Alexander, 54, and Richard Osman, 51.
Richard has now left Pointless to write his record-breaking best-selling books, make and present more television and host one of the leading podcasts, The Rest Is Entertainment.
Rosie Mullender, 47, appeared on Pointless in 2019 with her mother, Janet, 71, where they actually won their episode and took home £1,000.
‘It’s a long day,’ Rosie said, speaking on behalf of Fruityslots.com.
‘I think we got there at 8am but they filmed three to four episodes back to back and we were on the final one, so we weren’t called to start filming until 4:30pm.’

Ahead of filming, Rosie and Janet were given a list of clothing items they were banned from wearing too.
Rosie continued: ‘Stripes don’t work on screens, the colour red clashes with the background and they don’t think black wears well on camera. You also can’t wear logos. They also do your hair and make-up which is a nice treat. It only took about an hour to film a whole episode and we were done for the day.’
The player said Alexander and Richard couldn’t have been lovelier but she had one gripe.

She said: ‘Alexander actually stands in front of the questions on the board, so you can’t see them! He stands in a position where they’re visible on camera but not for contestants.
‘It’s hard as you have to memorise them or try and peer around him to see.’

But the friendship between Alexander and Richard wasn’t just for the cameras. Their banter doesn’t stop between takes and ‘you can see they get on well’, said Rosie.
Richard announced his exit from Pointless in 2022 after 13 years, 30 series and more than 1,300 episodes.
There’s since been a rotation of celebrities taking his place including Vick Hope, Sally Phillips and Gok Wan.
