A This Morning star has been slammed after she pretended to be pregnant.

Georgina Burnett, 46, was formerly a weather presenter and news reporter, but is now best known for working on ITV’s flagship breakfast programme where she shares DIY and home improvement tips.

She is also a regular presenter at the Ideal Home Show and Grand Designs Live.

However, she’s drawn criticism today after posting what appeared to be a fake pregnancy announcement.

Earlier today she shared a black and white photo of herself by a staircase on Instagram, which showed her face obstructed while she looked down on and held her stomach.

She captioned the post ‘News!’, with many quickly rushing to question if she was expecting.

She posted this earlier today before indicating it was an April Fool’s prank (Picture: Georgina Burnett/ Instagram)

But after she started commenting on some comments with a wink face emoji, others pointed out the date and indicated she may be making an April Fool’s joke, saying her actions were ‘insensitive’ if it was a prank.

‘Not funny if this is an April Fool’s joke,’ one person commented.

‘As a grown adult you actually think this is funny? Embarrassing,’ someone else shared.

‘I’m sure you’ve meant no offence, but this is in incredibly poor taste,’ another added.

Meanwhile another follower wrote: ‘This is deeply hurtful to the huge number of women suffering with infertility. Did you know 1/4 of pregnancies end in miscarriage and 1/6 of couples have trouble falling pregnant? You would do well to consider this before making “jokes” about such sensitive topics in the future.’

As other negative comments calling her out starting coming through, Georgina deleted the post.

She’s since added a post wishing her cat Dexter a happy birthday.

Just a few days ago she posted the following on social media: ‘I only have 2 children but ended up with 4 Mother’s Day cards so I’m feeling very blessed today. There isn’t a day that goes by (even on those days!) that I’m not immensely grateful for my kids. My heart goes out to anyone feeling sad for any reason today as I’ve been there xxx.’

It was on Valentine’s Day in 2023 she also announced she’d split from her husband Andy Flawn after more than 20 years together.

‘It’s time for me to share some personal news for a change. Something I’ve been dealing with this past year is my marriage splitting up,’ she wrote.

‘Never easy for anyone, especially the kids, but don’t worry, I’m not alone today and I’m excited about my next happier chapter and making the most of my life as a very fortunate single mum.’

Some other April Fool’s jokes today have also fallen flat, with Lorraine viewers saying a prank in which she was ‘given a tattoo’ in honour of her granddaughter Billie saw her name spelt wrong.

Pretending to storm off set after the ‘mistake’ was pointed out, Lorraine’s prank was called ‘cringeworthy’.

Metro has contacted Georgina Burnett for comment.

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV1.

Fearne Cotton’s estranged husband Jesse Wood has confirmed his new relationship just a few months after their split.

In December broadcaster and author Fearne, 38, and musician Jesse, 48, announced they were splitting after more than a decade together.

The pair, who were married in 2014, also share two children – son Rex, 11, and daughter Honey, 8.

Earlier this month it was revealed Fearne had moved on when she was spotted kissing TV director Elliot Hegarty, whose estranged wife was reportedly blindsided by their romance.

Now Jesse, the son of Rolling Stones rocker Ronnie Wood, has found love.

A few weeks ago, it was first reported he was dating Gemma Gregory, 39, a former actress who is best known for her parts in Popcorn, Gypsy Girl and the BBC television adaptation of Charles Dickens’s Great Expectations.

Gemma also played the young Estella in the 1999 adaptation alongside Ioan Gruffold and Charlotte Rampling but has since started her own fashion brand, Recovered by GG.

She’s now hard-launched him on social media, sharing a photo of them.

Posting on her Instagram stories, Gemma’s photo saw her and Jesse hugging outside in the sunshine.

‘Bloody love this one,’ she wrote alongside a red love heart emoji.

A source had previously told the Mail Online the pair ‘seem very happy and in love’.

‘They have been together some time, and people around them know about their relationship,’ they said.

‘Gemma is a lovely woman who has been through some difficult times over the years. She deserves some happiness.’

The daughter of actor Paul Gregory, Gemma was previously romantically linked to Nicholas Knatchbull, son and heir of Earl Mountbatten while she dated Henry Brett, a captain of the England polo team.

A close childhood friend of Hugo Taylor, she also appeared with him on Made in Chelsea in 2012.

She also has a son, Benji, who was born in 2014.

Meanwhile Jesse also has two older children from a previous marriage before Fearne – Arthur, 21, and Lola, 18.

He and Fearne were introduced by a mutual friend in Ibiza in 2011, around a year after he split from his first wife.

Earlier this week, Fearne spoke publicly for the first time about her marriage breakdown.

Appearing on Lorraine on Monday she said things were ‘very amicable and the kids are doing great’.

Kristin Davis has claimed she was pressured into a topless scene while filming Sex and the City.

From 1998 until 2004, the actress played Charlotte York in the HBO romantic comedy, starring alongside Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall and Cynthia Nixon.

She later reprised the role in the 2008 movie Sex and the City, its sequel Sex and the City 2 in 2010 and in the revival of the show And Just Like That…, which launched in 2021.

However, the 60-year-old actress has now spoken about a particularly uncomfortable experience on the set of the original series.

Recalling filming a scene during season 5 where she ‘flashed my boob’, Kristin accused showrunner Michael Patrick King, now 70, of not giving her a choice in the matter.

‘I didn’t want to do it. Michael Patrick forced me to do it. And he kept telling me like “it’ll be fine, it’ll be great”’ she said on the latest episode of her Are You A Charlotte? podcast.

‘And it is. But we were in a restaurant. There were people everywhere.’

Speaking with Jenny Bicks, a writer on the show, Kristin admitted the story was ‘not going to sound good’ when the episode was released.

However, she added her former boss ‘knows’ about her feelings.

She added: ‘I do think the other thing, and Michael always talks about this a lot too, is that we always wanted the sex to be like, “oh we are shooting a soft porn”. The tone was important.’

In the episode the actress also spoke about her first completely nude scene the following season when Charlotte converts to Judaism and steps into a mikveh bath.

Reflecting on that moment she explained: ‘It was a very, very integral part of the storyline. Because it wasn’t sexual – it’s much easier to have some nudity in a non-sexual way in a spiritual way.’

However, she said the filming environment was uncomfortable after having to walk through a room full of men smoking cigars.

‘I was like, “Uh, I’m trying to do something here without feeling self-conscious. Could you possibly move all those guys?” It’s crazy back then what went on,’ she shared.

‘Even in a situation where you theoretically did have so much power, all that stuff was still able to happen and you had to be the bad guy and be like, “They can’t smoke cigars literally in my eye line”.’

However, she said the mikveh scene was ‘gorgeous, romantic perfection’ and she was glad she’d done it.

Earlier this year Kristin, who has also appeared in Melrose Place, told People she was ‘scared’ of showing sex on the show and didn’t think all of the intimate scenes were needed.

‘I did not feel protected. I had to hide in my dressing room at the end of the scenario. I had to hide in my dressing room and call my manager in L.A, at two in the morning,’ she admitted.

Metro has contacted representatives for Michael Patrick King for comment.

Sex and the City is streaming on Now.

James May has shut down rumours there could be a reunion between him, Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond.

From 2003 until 2015, the trio hosted BBC’s motoring show Top Gear, going on to present The Grand Tour between 2016 and 2024.

Since then, there’s been plenty of talk about whether they will be seen on screens together again, however May has now ruled that out, saying they’ve now ‘disbanded’.

‘There isn’t going to be a reunion,’ he told ABC News Breakfast.

‘We’re not like Led Zeppelin or anything like that. In many ways, we’re not like Led Zeppelin.’

However, he did admit the end of their TV partnership last year was an ‘emotional experience’.

‘I was in that job longer than I have been in any other job by a long, long way,’ he continued.

‘Most other jobs I managed a few years in before I was fired for one reason or another. It was longer than I spent at school. So, whether I like it or not, those other two are a very significant part of my life.

‘It’s a cliche to say end of an era and all that sort of stuff, but it was.’

After more than two decades working together, May said they realised it was ‘probably time to stop’ as they wanted to ‘land it with dignity and not fly into thee cliffs’.

Adding they were ‘getting on a bit’, he said it was time for a younger generation to ‘think of a new way of talking about things like cars and transport generally’.

How long did James May, Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond work together?

After more than 20 years working together, in 2024 James May, Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond ended their professional partnership.

From 1988 until 1999, Clarkson was a presenter on the original Top Gear, with May briefly also appearing on the show its final year on air.

Two years after the series was cancelled, Top Gear relaunched with Clarkson and Hammond at the helm, with May then joining the second season in 2003 after replacing Jason Dawe.

The line-up then remained unchanged until the end of the 22nd season, when the BBC chose to not renew Clarkson’s contract in 2015 after he assaulted a producer while filming. The other two then also stepped down from the programme.

They then signed up to work on The Grand Tour together, which ran from 2016 until last year.

At the time he spoke about the decision to step away to The Sunday Times: ‘After 36 years of talking about cars on television, I’m packing it in, because I’m too old and fat to get into the cars that I like and not interested in driving those I don’t.

‘What this means of course is that my 22-year partnership with James May and Richard Hammond is now over. You can see our final road trip together on Amazon Prime very soon. It’s emotional.’

However earlier this week Amazon Prime revealed details of four upcoming The Grand Tour specials that would see them reflect on that long-running series.

In 2016, they reunited for the series, which initially followed a similar format to the BBC motoring series.

However after a decade, last year the final special went to air, which saw the trio travel across Zimbabwe in cars they always wanted to own.

But six months on, Amazon Prime has now announced it will be releasing four retrospective episodes, which will look back at the best moments of the series.

The first special will be The Not Very Grand Tour: The Power And The Glory, which will see Hammond and May ‘celebrate the glory of the internal combustion engine’ by looking back at the series.

‘These include the hyper car holy trinity, muscle cars in Detroit, a city sprint in a Bugatti, the world’s craziest tank, and a race between the past, present and future,’ the streaming service said.

Other instalments include The Grand-ish Tour: A Trip Down Memory Lane, The Grand-ish Tour: A Bit Further Down Memory Lane and The Grand-ish Tour: Completely Lost Down Memory Lane.

Clarkson will take part in those, where they will all look back at moments in California, Morocco, Colorado, Scandinavia, and Mongolia.

Amazon has also teased that they will also celebrate stuff they built including a self-assembly car that crossed Mongolia, and Clarkson’s home-made SUV, along with their explosions, and making a ‘heartfelt farewell to an old friend’.

They specials are set to be released later this year and into 2026.

Last year Clarkson admitted he was ‘mostly smashed’ while filming the final episode of The Grand Tour.

Speaking at a Q&A following a premiere screening of The Grand Tour: One For The Road, the 64-year-old revealed he and his co-stars were ‘mostly smashed’ during filming but ‘hopefully nobody will notice’.

The Not Very Grand Tour: The Power And The Glory will be streaming from April 18 on Amazon Prime Video.

The co-creator of The Last of Us has revealed the blockbuster series could end after just a few seasons.

Based on the video game franchise of the same name, the TV show was created by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann.

Set 20 years into a pandemic caused by a mass fungal infection that causes its host to transform into zombie-like creatures, its spread has caused the collapse of society.

The show follows Joel (Pedro Pascal), a smuggler tasked with escorting immune teenager Ellie (Bella Ramsey) across a post-apocalyptic United States.

Premiering in 2023, the first season launched to crucial acclaim and was nominated for a whopping 24 Emmys, winning eight.

It also averaged almost 32 million viewers per episode by May and became HBO’s most watched debut season.

First look at season 2 of ?The Last of Us.? Pedro Pascal and @BellaRamsey in #TheLastOfUs Season 2, now in production. Coming to @HBO and @StreamOnMax in 2025. Last edited 7:27 AM ? May 15, 2024

This month the second season will be released, with a third also already in development.

However, Mazin has now said there’s a chance the series won’t be a long-running one.

In a recent interview Druckmann, who helped develop the video game, told fans ‘don’t bet on there being more of Last of Us’ when asked if there could ever be a third game.

Now Mazin has confirmed they have no plans to extend the series if there’s no source material from the game to work off.

‘I am not going to go past the game,’ he told The Hollywood Reporter.

Co-creator Craig Mazin said they are ‘not going past the game’ (Picture: Monica Schipper/ WireImage)

‘I’ll just say that flat out. So, if people are thinking, “Oh, these guys are planning the old cash grab thing…”’

‘I’m basically setting a decade of my rapidly dwindling life on fire to tell this story. The show is so hard to make. It has to have an end. So, I’m not going to go past.

‘Who knows me, there might be a Dunk and Egg The Last of Us show that happens that somebody does. But for me, the only question is: Is it going to be one more season or will it require two more? If this can happen all in one more season, great. If we feel like it makes sense to break it into two, then we will do that.’

His comments come after Mazin told Entertainment Weekly in February that it was ‘pretty likely that our story will extend past a season 3’.

‘How far past? I can’t say. And that’s not to say that there are not other stories that could be told, but this story is the one that Neil and I are telling.’

However the second video game is set to span several seasons (Picture: Christopher Polk/ Variety via Getty Images)

However, the TV adaptation of The Last of Us: Part II game is set to stretch out over several seasons, with Mazin telling Deadline last year a fourth season ‘may be required’

Fans don’t have long to be able to dive into the next season.

Set five years after the events of the first, it’s been teased of the upcoming episodes: ‘After five years of peace following the events of the first season, Joel and Ellie’s collective past catches up to them, drawing them into conflict with each other and a world even more dangerous and unpredictable than the one they left behind.’

The creators have also said they are ‘high-calorie, dense episodes that pack quite a wallop’, assuring viewers they would ‘not be bored’.

The Last of Us season 2 is set to premiere on Monday April 14 on Sky and NOW.

Many people have said the decision to show Adolescence in schools is ‘pointless’.

This week it was announced the four-part drama, which stars Stephen Graham as a father who faces the shocking news his teenage son has been accused of murdering a female classmate, would be made available for free in all British schools.

Since being released last month the Netflix series has already been called ‘the best TV show of the year’ and has become the biggest streaming show in the UK in a single week, with 6.45 million people watching the first episode within a week.

The series deals with incel culture, social media addiction, the difficulty of parenting in the 2020s, and bullying among school pupils, as well as school funding and police resourcing, across four hour-long episodes.

However, while many have praised the series, they don’t think it needs to be played in the classroom.

‘It’s a great show but is it really something the kids need to see? Seems like the show’s message is intended for parents who can ignore the signs of their kids becoming radicalised. Don’t really see the point of showing this to kids, tbh,’ someone else explained.

However, others said they believed it could be a valuable teaching tool.

‘Watching challenging films in high school and discussing them afterwards were very memorable, and definitely informed my perspective on the world,’ tannhauser0 posted.

‘Often parents aren’t willing to have serious talks with their kids, and neither are teachers. You’d be surprised how important it is for kids to have exposure to some of the harsh realities of life and discussing them after the fact. Leaving them alone to wander the depths of the void (the internet) can be incredibly corrosive.’

Another shared: ‘Movies and shows like Adolescence aren’t a substitute for teaching but rather foster discussion and analysis.’

The announcement was made as Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer met with the show’s creators at Downing Street during a meeting about the issues tackled by the series.

Saying that the programme hit him, his wife, and his son ‘hard’, the Labour leader added that he wished to work out ‘what can we do as a society to stop and prevent young boys being dragged into this whirlpool of hatred and misogyny’.

He added: ‘It’s pernicious and persistent. But what Adolescence shows is that it’s now taken on a different form, or different characteristics [that can be] pumped directly into the minds of our children.’

The Prime Minister concluded: ‘I do think there is a sense of isolation going on here, and therefore we can’t deal with these challenges just with the old tools that we have. I don’t think there’s a simple solution.’

Anne Mensah, the vice president of Netflix’s UK content, said: ‘Adolescence has captured the national mood, sparking important conversations and helping articulate the pressures young people and parents face in today’s society.

The second season of a ‘moody well made’ Australian crime drama will be released in the UK this week (Picture: Stan)

A crime drama starring Vikings’ Travis Fimmel is set to return to screens very soon.

The first season of Black Snow was released in 2023.

Set in 2019, it followed Detective James Cormack (Fimmel) as he was tasked with investigating the inquiry into the cold case murder of 17-year-old Isabel Baker in 1994 in the fictional Australian town of Ashford.

‘This is a moody, well-made crime drama that forefronts a little-explored area of Australian culture and history, and so definitely worth adding to your queue,’ Flicks wrote in its review.

‘Tightly directed by Sian Davies and Matthew Saville and created with cultural input from the local South Sea Islander community, it’s a hugely compelling mystery,’ ScreenHub shared.

‘It could have been a disaster, but it isn’t. It’s a real breath of fresh air,’ The Age added.

Meanwhile viewers called it ‘suspenseful’, ‘superb’ and a ‘edge of your seat’ watch.

Now, after the second season was released in Australia in January, the follow-up season will arrive in the UK later this week.

Set in 2024, this time around it sees Cormack investigating the missing persons case of Zoe Jacobs in 2003 in the fictional town of Moorevale whilst also looking into the disappearance of his younger brother in 1994.

After it aired, viewers said season 2 ‘definitely lived up to the high standard of the first season’.

Joining the second season is Class of ‘07’s Megan Smart as Senior Constable Samara Kahlil.

Speaking to 9Now recently, she spoke about her excitement at being cast in the series.

‘I loved Season One. I binge-watched it in about two days. It feels like it really showcases real Australians with prevalent problems like the cost-of-living crisis, homelessness, and violence against women. I think it’s come out at an exciting time and will resonate with audiences,’ she said.

In recent months, various Australian crime dramas have been added to streaming services in the UK.

From Rake and Jack Irish to Animal Kingdom and Underbelly, there’s plenty to choose from once you’ve binged Black Snow.

Black Snow is streaming on BBC iPlayer. Season 2 will air on Friday at 9pm on BBC Two.

The film received critical acclaim and won Oscars for best actor for Affleck and best original screenplay. It was also nominated for best picture, best director, best supporting actor (Hedges) and best supporting actress (Michelle Williams as Lee’s ex-wife Randi).

It was also nominated for five Golden Globes and six Baftas.

Grossing $79 million ($61 million) worldwide against a budget of $9 million (£6.9 million), the movie was critically acclaimed too.

‘Manchester by the Sea is heartbreaking and exhausting, and a shining cinematic study of individual suffering,’ Metro wrote in its review.

‘A wrenching family tragedy is dramatised with the depth of a high-quality American stage piece in Manchester by the Sea,’ The Hollywood Reporter wrote.

Michelle Williams was also praised for her performance in the 2016 film (Picture: Roadside Attractions/ Everett/ Rex/ Shutterstock)

‘[A] beautifully textured, richly enveloping drama about how a death in the family forces a small-town New Englander to confront a past tragedy anew,’ Variety added.

In an interview with Deadline, Affleck spoke about the effect the script had on him when he first read it.

‘Almost immediately I was just absorbing it like it was some piece of nonfiction; some complete piece of writing that was, in and of itself, a thing. Not a blueprint to be built upon. It was complete,’ he said.

‘The emotions really snuck up on me. I was crying at the end, and I had been laughing throughout.’

‘Anyone missing the biting humour of Peep Show, or anyone who’s simply looking to delve into a quick comedy that deals with an odd power struggle should be pleasantly surprised by Back,’ CinemaBlend wrote in its review of the first season.

‘Ah, what a comfort it is to have David Mitchell and Robert Webb back, in Back, a comedy shaping up to be almost as pin-sharp and cheerfully dark as Peep Show,’ The Sunday Times shared.

‘It’s Blackwell’s intelligent and searing writing — which also has quite a bit of emotional nuance — that makes Back much more than mere joke creation for its own sake. And it’s Mitchell and Webb who make it all come to life,’ The Hollywood Reporter added.

Meanwhile viewers called it ‘binge-worthy’, ‘engaging’ and a ‘must-see’.

Back ran for two seasons, with the second airing in 2021.

At the time the show premiered, Mitchell spoke about his long-running partnership with Webb.

‘We first started doing stuff together when we were students, and we just thought “Well, this seems to click”. I think we just felt like it worked, and it’s difficult enough to make it on comedy, so we’d be fools to throw this away,’ he said.

‘We’ve been working together for over 20 years, and in that time it’s gone through phases when it’s all been tremendous fun, and phases when we’ve felt bleak and hopeless. There have been phases where we’ve been doing stuff that we’re excited to do, but we’re utterly sick of the sight of each other.

‘And then it comes back round to be fun and joyful again. But we did some of our best stuff when we couldn’t stand the sight of each other, so the fun is not key – but it’s nice that the fun has returned.’

Last month it was also announced the comedy duo would be returning to screens together again soon too.

The brand-new sketch show Mitchell & Webb will see the pair ‘combine forces with a host of exciting and innovative future stars, marking a bold return to British sketch comedy with an innovative merging of comedy minds across generations’.

The upcoming Channel 4 programme will also feature Kiell Smith-Bynoe, Lara Ricote, Stevie Martin, and Krystal Evans.

MobLand viewers have slammed Pierce Brosnan’s ‘horrific’ Irish accent…despite the fact he was raised there.

This week the new American crime drama hit screens. Initially developed as an origin story to the series Ray Donovan, it was then reworked into its own standalone series.

It stars Tom Hardy as Harry, a fixer for the London-based crime family the Harrigan’s, who ‘find themselves in a battle with the Stevensons that could end empires and their lives’.

The family is led by patriarch Conrad Harrigan, an Irish kingpin, who is married to Maeve (Helen Mirren).

However, after tuning in, many viewers have questioned Pierce’s accent.

‘Watching the first episode of MobLand. Very Good. Pierce Brosnan accent is horrific,’ user Action Jackson posted on X.

‘Enjoyed the first episode of MobLand. Aware that Pierce Brosnan is in fact Irish but his irish accent in this is a bit hit and miss,’ Hannah shared.

‘Considering he’s Irish, Pierce Brosnan’s attempt at an Irish accent can only be described as offensive,’ Ste added.

Other actors slammed for their accents

Pierce Brosnan is far from the only actor to have their accents on screen questioned by viewers.

Over the years there’s been countless other options called out.

They have included Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins, Anne Hathaway in One Day and Gerard Butler in P.S. I Love You.

Others called the accent ‘over exaggerated’ and ‘awful’.

In its review of the show, the Irish Independent said Conrad’s speaking voice was ‘all over the shop and is a huge distraction’.

Pierce, 71, was born in Drogheda, County Louth. He was raised in Navan, County Meath until he was 12 years old, eventually moving to Scotland with his mother and stepfather before they moved to London.

In a recent interview the actor admitted his Irish accent had been ‘dissipated to the midst of time’ and he’d been nervous using one for this role.

‘Last summer I spoke to Guy (Ritchie) for the first time about it and having read the five episodes he said not to worry about it,’ he told Dave Moore on Today FM. ‘[He said] “We’ll just do it 15 minutes on the day, clear your mind, we’ll sort it out, don’t worry about it.”

‘Of course, I put the phone down and did worry about it! Five weeks later I was on the set with Tom Hardy and Guy, first day, important dialogue, important information and he just said, ‘more Irish, more Irish’ and my Irish accent has dissipated into the midst of time. It’s somewhat Californian and everything. So, I asked myself, “What kind of accent would he have?” It was Kerry.’

A single episode of the Yellowstone spin-off 1923 has killed off a whopping five characters in just a single episode.

The American Western series is a prequel to Taylor Sheridan’s series Yellowstone, which starred Kevin Costner as John Dutton III and ran from 2018 until 2024.

The first season of the spin-off hit screens in 2022 and follows a generation of the Dutton family in 1923 during a rime of hardships including Prohibition, drought, and the early stages of the Great Depression.

It stars Helen Mirren as Cara Dutton and Harrison Ford as Jacob Dutton.

The second season is currently airing; however, the latest episode left many shocked by the sheer amount of bloodshed.

The sixth episode saw five major characters killed, beginning with the reveal that the shootout that ended the previous episode had resulted in the death of Pete Plenty Clouds (Jeremy Guana).

His death then saw Father Renaud (Sebastian Roché) realise Marshal Kent (Jamie McShane) was the murderer and shot his comrade dead.

Meanwhile in Montana Jack (Darren Mann) was shot by cronies of business tycoon Donald Whitfield.

The bloody episode then ended with the deaths of Teonnah’s father, Runs His Horse (Michael Spears), and Father Renaud.

With Teonnah and her dad asleep in the desert, after discovering Pete’s body earlier that day, the priest snuck up on them and shot the man dead.

Waking up, a shocked Teonnah then began to attack the priest, burning his face with embers from a fire, stabbing him multiple times and then shooting him dead.

After watching, many viewers shared their thoughts on everything that unfolded.

‘Episode 6 of 1923 was insane,’ Tre posted on X.

‘The number of deaths in a single episode…..damn,’ Kanyinsola shared.

‘OMG! I knew things were going to get intense, but five characters gone?! Talk about setting the stage for an epic season finale! I’m hooked!’ Amelia commented.

‘This is shaping up to be seriously dramatic. I’m guessing there won’t be any easy answers in the season finale!’ Wayne added.

However, others were left unimpressed.

‘1923 is getting so frustrating – it is basically race across America at this point and can’t see how all the storylines can be tied up in two episodes. Plus as for the multiple people they killed off this week,’ Tracey said.

‘I’ve been enjoying this series, but I would have been better off skipping this week’s episode—it was depressing with so many main characters getting killed off. And seriously, why include that sadistic voyeurism in the show,’ Duncan explained.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Mann spoke about his initial frustration with his character being killed off.

‘It’s a tough one. When I read it, I went through all sorts of emotions. I was angry at first. I was sad. I really grieved him in a whole bunch of different ways because I love playing Jack so much,’ he said.

‘He’s such a beautiful character. He’s naïve in all the best ways. He’s not naïve from a place of ignorance but from a place of love and heart. He’s always trying to do the right thing by everybody.

‘So, I was definitely saddened, because I just love playing this character. It was a nice character to be inside of. Some characters are pretty challenging just sitting with them day to day, but going to set and playing Jack was so much fun. He always trying to do the right thing.’

***Trigger warning. This article contains graphic content**

The BBC has defended Bruce Parry after he suffocated and killed a goat with his bare hands in ‘gruesome’ scenes for his new TV show.

After more than a decade away from screens, the filmmaker and activist returned this weekend for a new series of Tribe on BBC Two.

The reboot certainly isn’t for the faint-hearted, however, with the 56-year-old facing several shocking experiences.

The BBC has spoken out against the recent backlash from groups including People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (Peta) and defended Bruce.

‘The goat sequence in episode two accurately portrays an essential part of Mucubal life in Angola, and it is traditional for Mucubal communities to ask visitors to slaughter a goat.

‘As the programme explains, the Mucubal believe that stabbing an animal is cruel and suffocation is a more respectful death.

‘The goat was eaten after its slaughter and to avoid including it in the programme would create an inauthentic portrayal of Mucubal life.’

UPDATE + RESELL- BBC fans horrified as TV star 'suffocates live goat' in gruesome scene
The TV presenter has returned to screens with a new season of Tribe (Picture: BBC)

This comes after Peta President of Programmes Elisa Allen said in a statement: ‘Bruce Parry would be in jail and facing criminal charges if his abominably cruel goat suffocation had occurred on British soil.

‘And PETA will see what action can be taken regardless as he planned this, no doubt, from the UK, sharing responsibility with the BBC.

‘For selfish ratings “shock value”, a gentle being who otherwise loved to play and jump spent her final moments in abject terror – gasping for air, struggling to stay alive, and bleating for mercy that Parry failed to grant.

‘Parry’s excuse of cultural immersion is a failed attempt at washing his hands of an act of wanton cruelty to animals, and the BBC must answer for enabling such cruelty.’

The statement suggested that Bruce should make a donation to a goat sanctuary and urged viewers disturbed by scenes to reconsider their choices when it comes to animal products.

He was told to kill the animal after being gifted it by the tribe leader (Picture: BBC)

In the episode set to air on April 6, but already available on iPlayer, Bruce meets an indigenous tribe called The Mucubal in Angola.

Upon his arrival, Bruce is gifted a goat by one of the tribe’s leaders.

However, after asking what he’s meant to do with it, he was instructed he needed to kill it right away.

Looking completely floored, Bruce then explained in a voiceover that it would be rude to reject the gift from the tribe.

It’s then demonstrated what he needs to do to kill the animal, with suffocation being the method used so the goat’s nutrient-rich blood isn’t wasted.

In confronting scenes, a group of men then hold the screaming goat down as Bruce puts his hands around its mouth and nostrils to kill it.

As the process unfolds, he shares: ‘This is the most gruesome thing I have ever done.’

Bruce then goes on to exclaim ‘oh my god’ several times, adding: ‘I wasn’t given any time to consider it or anything, it’s like they held it and said you have to hold this now…so I did.’

Television Programme' Tribe' Picture Shows: Bruce and Nyangatum tribesmen throwing spears TX BBC TWO TBC In the second series of Tribe, presenter Bruce Parry travels down the Omo Valley in the far south of Ethiopia, passing through some of Africa's most dramatic and dangerous terrain, and living among people in what is one of the most ethnically diverse parts of that continent. After being told the goat is dead, Bruce looks relieved that the ordeal is over.

‘It’s a very odd feeling, feeling the life force of an animal disappear in your own hands…not a feeling I’d necessarily want to have again,’ he explains.

In a recent interview with Radio Times, Bruce reflected on the ‘difficult’ task he was presented with.

‘But I could be the most ethically minded person at home in the UK, but still, by simply getting on a bus, I will have a much larger impact on the planet than any one of these people. Who am I to judge them?’ he said.

In the first episode, which aired on Sunday night, Bruce travelled into the Colombian Amazon to meet the Waimaha people.

There, he got stuck in with any and every domestic task, took his taste buds on a tropical adventure by eating their delicacies, and even explored the tribe’s medicinal practices.

At one point, local physician Pedro squeezed green juice from a lush leaf into Bruce’s eye, which, as you can expect, stung a fair bit.

The most challenging viewing came, though, after Bruce underwent ‘training’ before he was permitted to join the villagers at a ceremony for the forest sports.

In preparation for the sacred ritual, Bruce cleared his sinuses by snorting ground chili.

He then ingested a plant-based drink, called emetic leaf-water, intended to ‘purge’ his stomach.

And there was certainly a lot of purging involved for poor Bruce, who found himself up to his neck in the river in the dead of night, projectile vomiting like there was no tomorrow.

Several minutes of footage were included in the final cut as gallons of green gunk made their way out of his system.

Surprisingly, there was a sprinkling of comedic relief in the whole thing, as Pedro coached Bruce on how exactly he should be spewing his guts up.

Instead of heaving and spitting, Pedro instructed him to lean forward and simply let it all flow out, like turning on a tap.

So, now you know…

The scenes astounded viewers watching at home, who took to X with reactions while trying to enjoy some Mother’s Day treats.

User @OffTheBallMedia, whose name is Chris Williams, wrote: ‘I am watching #Tribe. There is quite a lot of vomiting. I was previously eating chocolates that the Current Mrs Williams was given for Mother’s Day. Not so keen now’.

‘That’s a LOT of sick, just as I’m having a slice of Victoria sponge cake and a nice cup of tea’, said @EdithBo11775637.

‘Bruce honking up on #Tribe is giving me flashbacks to outside Flamingo kebab house on a Friday night’, joked @cluckingduck170.

‘Flaming hell Bruce, we don’t need see 5 minutes of you and that other bloke puking! We know what vomiting is’, exclaimed a disgusted @truly_woolie.

Despite the unsettling nature of some scenes involving bodily functions, the ‘eye-opening’ episode received high praise from viewers on the whole.

@brandyapple described it as a ‘fascinating’ watch and said it was ‘amazing’ to see how Bruce was welcomed by the tribe.

@markmathewssong also hailed him as a ‘hero’ and declared, ‘The world is healing’ now Tribe has returned.

@pitlane_girl chimed in: ‘Can’t believe the original series started 20 years ago! I’ve missed this … psychoactive concoctions, cleansing rituals, and grub eating … and BP has matured like a fine wine’.

Others even suggested Bruce would ‘walk’ I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, having clearly taken tribal life in his stride and not been fazed by anything he ate.

Speaking ahead of the new series, Bruce sat down with Metro to reflect on the cultural practices he got involved in and his aim to be respectful to the Indigenous communities.

On approaching any rituals with zero prejudice, he shared: ‘Who the hell am I to judge these people anyway?

‘[Tribes] have almost no impact on their environment outside their own tiny space. They’re not the problem on the planet. They are not causing climate change.’

Bruce’s last docuseries, Arctic, aired on the BBC in 2011. He then took a step back for 14 years before making his long-awaited return.

Tribe continues Sunday at 9pm on BBC Two and is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.

The search for a missing police officer who is friends with Chris Hemsworth has been called off.

Earlier this week Jay Notaro, 45, disappeared from the New South Wales coastal town of Byron Bay.

The Queensland Police Inspector went missing from Broken Head beach on Tuesday morning, with his surfboard found on the beach with the leg rope attached by a member of the public around 7.30am.

The next morning the Hollywood star, 41, was spotted speaking to officers in the carpark of the beach that Notaro was last seen.

The actor was photographed surrounded by five officers and two police cars, speaking to them as the search continued.

Friends of Notaro told the Courier Mail he regularly drove down from his Gold Coast home to surf with Hemsworth and former pro surfer Luke Munro.

The police officer had reportedly been due to attend a birthday dinner on Tuesday night with his friends but cancelled after telling them he was unwell.

He was last seen on CCTV pulling into the Broken Head car park at around dawn on Tuesday.

After four days, the news the search had been called off and he was now presumed dead was announced by Notaro’s father.

‘The family is of course naturally devastated. This hole in our lives will never be filled. We are heart broken. Such a tragic accident,’ he wrote in a statement posted on Facebook.

‘Conditions this week have been horrendous, and we can’t thank the NSW and Queensland Police enough for a remarkable response.

‘Plus, all the friends and colleagues that attended to help in any way they could. And the onslaught of messages. It’s been truly humbling and heartwarming. But we fully understand that they had to call it. The search was intensive. Now we wait for Mother Nature to decide if she will return him to us.’

Police confirmed on Friday evening local time the search had been unsuccessful.

‘This is an incredibly difficult time for our organisation, and our thoughts are with Jay’s family, friends and colleagues as we continue to navigate this tragic situation,’ acting commissioner of police Shane Chelepy said, as reported by News.com.au.

‘I want to sincerely thank our NSW Police counterparts, and everyone involved in the search for their tireless commitment and professionalism under highly challenging and emotional circumstances.

‘I know this situation has impacted many across the QPS and the community.’

They are reported to be working on several theories surrounding Notaro’s disappearance, including foul play, self-harm, a surfing mishap or a medical episode.

Netflix viewers have rushed to watch a series about a jaw-dropping real life treasure hunt.

Since being released earlier this week, the three-part documentary series Gold & Greed: The Hunt for Fenn’s Treasure has become one of the most-watched programmes in the UK.

It follows the wild idea by enigmatic art dealer and author Forrest Fenn, who in 2010 orchestrated a treasure hunt for the 21st century.

Fenn was a decorated Air Force pilot who went on to become a notable art dealer. After being diagnosed with kidney cancer, which had a small chance of survival, he beat the odds and was then inspired to organise the treasure hunt.

At the age of 80, he hid a chest filled with gold and jewels in the mountains north of Santa Fe, New Mexico.

The items he hid included around 476 gold pieces, coins, jewellery, and other precious artifacts, valued at $1,000,000 (£772,000).

All he left for those willing to undertake the mission to track it down was a cryptic 24-line poem.

As teased by Netflix: ‘The audacious act ignited a decade-long quest for which a ragtag band of adventurers abandoned their jobs, families, and in some cases even their lives in pursuit of Fenn’s hidden fortune.’

Although Fenn had reassured people anyone could solve the poem by keeping the search simple and consider locations an elderly man could access, some treasure hunters travelled into dangerous locations where they faced whitewater rapids, sheer cliffs, and dangerous wildlife.

Ahead of the show hitting screens, many viewers expressed their excitement.

‘Nooo way! I was literally thinking about this the other day. I’m pretty excited!’ user jonesaukitoga8222 commented on YouTube.

‘I spent almost 10 years searching. It was a great time. I’ll never forget it,’ PJBASS8225 shared.

‘I’m not going to lie. I was big into this, too. I bought his book hoping to figure it out just like everyone else. Forrest was a genius. He probably made more on the sales of the book than he spent hiding the treasure itself. Its smart,’ michaelll added.

Despite many people becoming committed to the search, several lost their lives in the process, which led to New Mexico State Police urging Fenn to call off the treasure hunt, a move which sparked backlash from the hunters and members of the public.

The treasure was indeed eventually found – by 32-year-old medical student Jack Stuef, who discovered it in the Rocky Mountains a decade after it was hidden.

‘The moment it happened was not the triumphant Hollywood ending some surely envisioned; it just felt like I had just survived something and was fortunate to come out the other end,’ he wrote in a blog post.

‘This treasure hunt was the most frustrating experience of my life. There were a few times when I, exhausted, covered in scratches and bites and sweat and pine pitch, and nearing the end of my day’s water supply, sat down on a downed tree and just cried alone in the woods in sheer frustration.’

Following its discovery, the treasure was put up for auction, where it was purchased by an anonymous buyer for more than $1.3 million.

Fenn died aged 90 in 2020, soon after the hunt ended.

Big Brother star Charlie Doherty has given a health update after being diagnosed with a brain tumour last year.

Charlie, 39, appeared on the reality show in 2016 alongside names including Andrew Tate and Lateysha Grace, with Jason Burrill going on to win.

However, in an interview with Metro in 2024, she revealed she had an acoustic neuroma, a benign tumour in the brain.

At the time she said the diagnosis, which came a year after suffering difficult symptoms, was ‘scary and shocking’.

She’s now shared an update.

‘So, it’s stable and I had a six-month MRI, when they just check on it, they basically said that all was well,’ she told the Daily Star.

‘But it had grown and it is now 18 millimetres. I did get told originally it was like 13 millimetres, but they said not to go by that measurement, because it was done in a hospital where it’s not very HD.

‘Whereas the one at King’s College Hospital was like the creme de la creme, the Rolls-Royce of MRI machines. And they said, ‘We’re not even going to judge it on that first initial one, because it was so grainy, so we don’t really want to go by that.’

Charlie said she was initially told she might eventually need brain surgery or camera surgery too, where they ‘target radio therapy for brain swelling’.

However, doctors warned her it could make her feel ill for up to two years if she went ahead with those.

The reality star explained how it wasn’t easy to just ‘get it out’ but her doctors ‘weren’t too worried’ currently.

‘I’m only going to stress when I actually need to and they say that we’re in a bit of trouble,’ she added.

When first seeing a doctor for her symptoms, which included a blocked ear, Charlie was told it could have arisen from a cold or build-up of wax.

But after they started to worsen she pushed for an MRI scan, which she called a ‘saving grace’.

Although she faced the ‘initial shock’, she said she was ‘just trying to keep a positive mind on everything’.

Big Brother is streaming on ITVX.

Amazon Prime has revealed details of the four upcoming The Grand Tour specials.

In 2016, former Top Gear hosts Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond reunited for the series, which initially followed a similar format to the BBC motoring series.

‘It has been a privilege to bring our viewers and listeners their local forecast for so many years.

‘Come rain or shine, we’ve shared lots of fun and laughter along the way.’

She continued: ‘I feel very blessed to have been able to work in such a beautiful part of the country and to have such a special connection with those who live here.

The Apprentice viewers were left in fits of laughter after Lord Alan Sugar made a quip about Prince Andrew.

The 19th season of the long-running series is currently on air, with seven entrepreneurs still in the running to win a £250,000 investment from the businessman.

On the latest episode, those remaining were tasked with selling products on a shopping channel.

But when it came time to discuss what unfolded in the boardroom, Lord Sugar couldn’t help but poke fun at them.

After mocking some of them for avoiding using a facial steamer in the task, he dropped a joke that left many taken aback.

‘You ended up with the face spa right? I didn’t see you use it. I saw the steam coming out of it. Half an hour of that would even get Prince Andrew to sweat,’ he joked.

The camera then cut to Baroness Karren Brady, who turned her head and laugh, with Tim Campbell bursting out laughing too.

Meanwhile the candidates also tried to hold back giggles.

Those watching on home were also left amused by the gag.

‘Line of the season from Lord Sugar re Prince Andrew 😂😂😂,’ Nigel shared.

‘”Half an hour of that would even get Prince Andrew to sweat.” A Lord Sugar joke that actually mad me laugh,’ Emma added.

Many others called his comment ‘hysterical’.

His joke was a reference to Prince Andrew’s infamous 2019 Newsnight interview with Emily Maitlis in which the royal was grilled about his friendship with American businessman and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

During the interview Prince Andrew counteracted claims by Virginia Giuffre – who said Prince Andrew sexually abused her – that he had been sweating during a dance during one meeting.

He then claimed he couldn’t sweat due to a medical condition, which he said was an ‘overdose of adrenaline’ from the Falklands War.

During The Apprentice episode, Lord Sugar eventually fired 30-year-old senior account manager Max England, who was project manager for his team, who has struggled trying to sell electric mits, picnic blankets and inflatable canoes.

The Apprentice airs on Thursdays at 9pm on BBC One.

A series about the crimes of two of the worst serial killers the country has ever seen is now available to watch on Netflix.

Initially released on ITV in 2006, the two-part serial See No Evil: The Moors Murders retold the story of the Moors murders, which were committed between July 1963 and October 1965 by Myra Hindley and Ian Brady – played by Maxine Peake and Sean Harris.

The series is told from the perspective of Hindley’s sister Maureen Smith (Joanne Froggatt) and husband David (Matthew McNulty).

The victims of the Moors murders were five children—Pauline Reade, John Kilbride, Keith Bennett, Lesley Ann Downey and Edward Evans—aged between 10 and 17, at least four of whom were sexually assaulted.

During their trial Hindley was labelled ‘the most evil woman in Britain’ by the press, with the pair receiving life sentences.

See No Evil marked the first dramatisation of the notorious murders and was made to mark the 40th anniversary of their trial.

After two years of research, the series was also made with the support of the victims’ families.

When it aired, each episode drew over 6 million viewers. In the years since many fans have shared their reviews after tuning in.

‘This was a superb, well written very emotive drama. It handled a very difficult subject with sensitivity and respect. An excellent piece of factual drama, well worth a viewing,’ elja-sharman wrote on IMDB.

‘When I saw this television drama advertised I didn’t think I’d be watching it; I don’t believe in recent (in the last 50 years) true crimes being “used” as a source of ‘entertainment. However, this was intelligently written and focused more on how the crimes affected those around the killers than on the heinous nature of their murders. When the end credits rolled over silence, I found myself in tears,’ myrndra shared.

‘The storyline and characters are so well done. It’s frightening to think what these monsters had done. Gripped from start to finish. One of the best real-life series,’ live-33032 added.

See No Evil won the Bafta TV award for best drama serial at the 2007 ceremony. Since it was released on Netflix this week, the series has soared up the charts and is currently the second most-watched programme in the UK.

At the time its writer Neil McKay said the drama provided a ‘sober, unsensational account of the most notorious crimes of the last century’.

‘It tells the extraordinary story of how Ian Brady and Myra Hindley were brought to justice.

‘The focus is not only on their crimes, but also on the effect … on the families of their victims and Hindley’s sister, Maureen. The response from the families of the victims to the project has been enormously encouraging and we hope the film will do them justice.’

See No Evil: The Story of the Moors Murders is streaming on Netflix.

The Handmaid’s Tale star Elisabeth Moss has revealed a colleague requested to keep her used underwear after the show finished filming.

Based on Margaret Atwood’s 1985 novel of the same name, the dystopian drama follows a religious, totalitarian society that subjects fertile women, called Handmaids, to bearing children for the upper class against their will.

The series centres on June Osborne (played by Elisabeth), who was captured while attempting to escape to Canada with her husband and daughter, but has been forced to become a Handmaid and is now referred to as Offred – being named after Fred Waterford, the Commander whose home she is placed in.

After being met with critical acclaim following its release in 2017, the series has since released four more seasons, with a sixth and final set to air next month.

However ahead of the season premiere, Elisabeth has detailed an incredibly strange discovery she made as the show was wrapping up.

During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the actress explained how she wanted to keep some underwear from the show – but was told someone else had already requested them.

‘We had an email sent all of the EP’s that had a full list of all of the props and costumes we could take and in a very mature way I replied “dibs” and proceeded to list everything I wanted,’ she said.

‘There was one thing I really wanted, which was Offred’s underwear set that was specially designed and someone told me that someone else had already asked for it.’

Expressing disbelief, the talk show host replied: ‘Wait a minute. This is your custom underwear that you wore? And some creep on the staff requested it in writing? Like, “I want Elisabeth’s underpants. I’m gonna take ’em home. I’m gonna put ’em in storage for a while”.’

Elisabeth then revealed she still doesn’t know who put in the request and ‘didn’t wanna know’.

‘You don’t?! I wanna know. How do you not wanna know?’ he questioned.

However, she replied: ‘I went to work with these people! I don’t wanna know who wants my underwear!.’

But still confused by the whole situation Jimmy went on: ‘What kind of a crazy thing is that to say?! Oh my God, I hope it’s a woman. I mean, really. Someone made a formal request for your underwear — like in writing, in an email — that they shared with other people. We need to know who that person is.’

Wrapping up the chat Elisabeth then said she was perplexed as she ‘didn’t think anyone would want it!’.

Despite missing out on this costume item, the actress did manage to secure some items she wanted when Mad Men ended, revealing in the same interview she took ‘a lot’ of stuff from set.

‘I took my chair. The last chair that I sat in as Peggy, this purple chair,’ she explained. ‘But it’s not a very nice chair, so it’s just in storage. I don’t know what to do with it! I don’t know why I have a chair.’

Shot in one take, the show also features Ashley Walters as DI Luke Bascombe, Christine Tremarco as Manda Miller and Erin Doherty as Briony Ariston.

Since it hit screens, viewers have been discussing small details they’ve noticed, with many also intrigued to see Brad’s name in the credits.

The production company behind Adolescence was Plan B, which was founded in 2001 by Brad, Brad Grey, Kristin Hahn and Jennifer Aniston. The actor is now the sole owner of the company, which has been behind acclaimed movies and shows including 12 Years a Slave, Moonlight, The Underground Railroad and 3 Body Problem.

Now Adolescence’s director Philip Barantini has detailed just how hands on Brad was.

Speaking on The Rest is Entertainment podcast, he explained: ‘When we were pitching to Plan B, they kept saying, “We’re just waiting for Brad’s schedule”. I thought, “It can’t be that Brad”. But sure enough, there he was on the Zoom — such a lovely human being and a remarkably hands on producer.

‘He gave feedback, shared ideas, and was so engaged throughout the process.

‘He couldn’t visit the shoot because of his F1 project, but having someone like Brad Pitt involved — and so invested — was incredible. And he’s, yeah, I mean, I’d love to work with him again.’

Jack previously shared a hilarious anecdote about working with Brad.

‘I’m always early on a Zoom call and he’s always early on a Zoom call too,’ he told Deadline.

‘So, we had 40 seconds where I just stared at this beautiful man and he just said: “Hi, I’m Brad”.

‘And I was just like, “Yeah, I know”. And then other people joined,’ he told Deadline.

Adolescence is streaming on Netflix.

Charlotte Chilton has shared a heartbreaking post about her daughter amid questions over her paternity.

The Traitors star, 33, has claimed social media star Conor Maynard is the father of her daughter Penelope, who was born in October.

However earlier this month Conor, 32, shared a statement saying he’d undertaken a paternity test which ‘confirms I am not the father’. ‘I am glad that the speculation can finally be put to an end,’ he added.

A few weeks on, Charlotte has shared an emotional post regarding her baby girl.

Before getting pregnant with Penelope, Charlotte had undergone IVF with her estranged wife but had suffered seven miscarriages.

Sharing a photograph of her daughter’s teddy bear, she explained: ‘This teddy was the first thing I brought Penelope when she was only 10 weeks in my tummy.

‘So now the fact she loves this Teddy so much it makes me feel so much better about the all losses I had. We are so excited for out bright future!’

Last year Charlotte revealed she feared she would miscarry her daughter after claiming Conor ‘changed’ after she told him she was pregnant following a one-night stand.

‘He turned on me, I felt pressured into keeping his identity as the father a secret,’ she said.

‘It was so stressful that doctors twice put me on bed rest. I thought I was going to miscarry.’

Charlottes said they conceived Penelope after meeting on the night of the finale airing, shortly after her split from ex-wife, Laura.

When announcing the results of the paternity test, Conor asked that ‘people act with kindness in response to this news’.

‘There is a child at the heart of all of this and that should not be forgotten. I wish Charlotte and her family all the best.’

Dancing on Ice viewers have admitted the show had ‘run its course’ after news of its cancellation broke.

Overnight ITV announced the long-running series, which launched in 2006, would not be returning to screens.

‘Following another successful series earlier this year, Dancing on Ice will be rested in 2026 with no current plans for another series,’ an ITV spokesperson told Metro.

‘We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the cast and crew who have worked on the show since 2006, and over the previous 17 series, for all of their hard work both on and off the ice.’

During the first season finale, the show attracted an impressive 13 million viewers.

However, the recent 2025 finale, which was won by Coronation Street actor Sam Aston, only drew in 2.7 million viewers.

The series has been plagued by cancellation rumours for weeks, but when it was finally confirmed – many said it had been a long time coming.

The announcement of the news drew over 3,800 comments on Facebook, with many Metro readers saying the format had grown tired.

‘Haven’t watched the show in yrs. No great loss,’ Nadine posted.

‘The last series wasn’t as good as normal, Jane and Christopher are retiring it seems the right time to end,’ Teresa shared.

‘It’s had its day. When it was first on it was great they couldn’t skate, and you saw them all improve now they are brilliant from the start, so I stopped watching it,’ Carol explained.

‘It’s had its time. It wouldn’t be right without Jane and Chris skating either. I avidly watched the first couple of series’, but I haven’t watched it for years now. It just completely went off the boil,’ Debbie added.

Reflecting on the most recent season, many others also weighed in.

‘Am gutted and sad to hear this but after this last series I feel it’s the right decision as it was nowhere near as good as it used to be. Felt very rushed this year and the standard wasn’t as good as it was in the earlier series’,’ Ant wrote.

‘This series wasn’t the best in my opinion. And when they said it would be the last performance of Torvill and Dean on TV, that was the announcement [it was over],’ Charlotte explained.

Why Dancing on Ice was doomed to end

After nearly 20 years on air, Dancing on Ice was failing to maintain the loyal audience it once held.

During its series premiere in 2006, the ITV show attracted an impressive 9.8 million viewers, figures it maintained for several years.

From 2007-2013 the season premieres drew between 8.3 million- 10.2 million.

The final season before its first cancellation saw 7.1 million tune in, still somewhat respectable figures.

When it returned in 2018, 8.5 million watched Dancing on Ice, but numbers have dramatically dropped since then.

Over the past two seasons its struggled to crack over 5 million viewers – with the past few years’ figures being 4.6 million, 4.2 million and finally, just 3.3 million earlier this year.

With more people switching off, it’s no surprise ITV was forced to put the programme on ice.

While this season was airing, it was reported that the drop in viewership was making the cost of producing the programme ‘difficult to justify’.

‘We need bums on seats, but the ratings have dropped to a point where it’s difficult to justify the cost,’ a source told The Mirror.

There’s also been criticism from fans over the years for its lack of star power, with many often complaining they don’t know many of the celebrity contestants, in stark contrast to the famous faces who sign up to rival shows like Strictly Come Dancing and I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!.

Dancing on Ice was originally fronted by Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, before he was replaced by Stephen Mulhern two years ago.

The series was previously cancelled by ITV in 2014, with the broadcaster’s director of television saying at the time that the show had ‘reached its natural end’.

However, it was then revived four years later, but struggled to attract audience numbers it had initially received.

Over 200 celebrities have taken part in the show over the 245 episodes.

Dancing on Ice is streaming on ITVX.

Tina Malone has struggled to hold back tears speaking about her husband Paul Chase’s death from suicide a year ago.

The actress, 62, rose to fame playing Mo McGee in the soap Brookside from 1993 until 1998.

She then went on to play Mimi Maguire on Shameless from 2005 until 2013.

In 2009 she also appeared on Celebrity Big Brother and then competed on Celebrity MasterChef in 2016.

However, in May last year she announced the devastating news that her husband had died at the age of 42 by suicide.

At the time she explained that she’d decided to share how he died as she ‘believes in transparency’ and wanted to shine a light on the rates of suicide in military veterans.

A year on, Tina has given an emotional interview, breaking down when asked about her husband’s death.

In a promo clip for the upcoming episode of The Lewis Nicholls Show podcast on YouTube, Tina was shown to be incredibly upset.

As she explained: ‘My husband fought in Iraq, Afghanistan, Northern Ireland.

‘He went from Belize to Cyprus, and he had a wonderful life in the army. But 4.8 veterans take their own lives in the UK every week.

‘You never hear about it, and it needs to change now,’ she added.

Last year Tina explained how after facing spiralling anxiety and depression, as well as a PTSD diagnosis, her husband had turned to drinking and drugs, saying he felt ‘lost and useless’.

‘This is a man who served his country and saved lives. He admitted it in the end but, by then, things had gone too far. He couldn’t find a way back,’ she said.

‘We have to talk more about suicide – that’s why I am speaking out now. It is the biggest cause of death in men under the age of 50 but there is still a stigma around it; there’s not enough support.

‘What are we actually doing to help people like Paul?’

A report released last year revealed male veterans aged between 25 and 44 had a higher risk of suicide than men in that age range in the general public.

Another study, by Northumbria University, concluded an urgent review of the mental health support for veterans was needed.

A British crime drama will be taken down from Netflix very soon (Picture: Starz! Movie Channel/ Rex/ Shutterstock)

A ‘compelling’ crime thriller that many viewers rushed to binge-watch will only be up on Netflix for two more weeks.

First airing in 2014, The Missing was a British anthology drama written by brothers Harry and Jack Williams.

The first season followed the search for a missing boy in France, with the case led by detective Julien Baptiste, played by Tchéky Karyo.

The story unfolded after Tony Hughes (James Nesbitt) and his wife Emily (Frances O’Connor) travelled to France from the UK with their five-year-old son Oliver (Oliver Hunt).

Set in 2006, the family were in the country during the FIFA World Cup and lost their son while watching a football game in a crowded outdoor bar.

In its review the New York Times wrote: ‘The Missing is imaginatively written, well cast, chillingly believable and quite addictive.’

‘It is a riveting, heartbreaking, fascinating drama, taking a subject that could easily have been turned into a Lifetime TV Movie melodrama and making it real with its subtle, character-driven grace notes and the breakneck speed of its elaborate plotting,’ Time shared.

‘It’s very good, a swift-moving crime thriller that also takes the time to measure the effects of the crime on Tony and Emily’s marriage, their state of mind, and the lives of the French townspeople who were drawn into the investigation and may be again,’ RogerEbert.com added.

Meanwhile viewers called it ‘captivating’, ‘suspenseful’ and ‘underrated’.

It was then followed by a second season in 2016, which then followed a missing girl in Germany and starred David Morrisey and Keeley Hawes as her parents.

The Missing then led to a spin-off series – Baptiste – being released in 2019.

However, fans wanting to rewatch the show, or those wanting to dive in for the first time, will only be able to do so until April 12 – when the series will be taken down from Netflix.

In an interview with the BBC, the Williams brothers spoke about incorporating the thriller element into the character-driven drama.

‘There’s so much good TV, you need a reason to come back. You need a reason to keep watching. When we write, we really try to think about how to end an episode in a place that makes me want to come back and write the next one,’ Jack said.

‘And you have to do it in a way that isn’t cheap, that’s important to the story, and helpful to moving forward with our characters,’ Harry added.

The Missing is on Netflix until April 12.

The opening night of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival has been cancelled after the death of an audience member.

The largest comedy festival in the world, the event takes place over a month in the Australian city after first being held in 1987.

It kicks off each year with the Allstars Gala, which features a star-studded line-up of household names. This year’s event was hosted by comedian Michael Hing at the Palais Theatre in St Kilda.

It is understood the man in question suffered a suspected heart attack early in the show.

Other ticketholders alerted ushers to the medical emergency, with members of the public initially administering CPR in the dark while waiting for paramedics to arrive.

They said Hing continued his performance, unaware of what was happening in the audience.

One told the Daily Mail patrons had to then start yelling out and tell him to stop, with people leaving ‘in tears’ once realising what had happened.

The event’s official page shared a statement announcing the cancellation of the event soon after.

‘Melbourne International Comedy Festival regrets to confirm that there was a medical emergency while the Opening Night Allstars Supershow was taking place this evening at the Palais Theatre,’ it posted on Instagram.

‘The show was stopped and cancelled. The Festival will be in touch with all ticket holders tomorrow.’

Victoria Police confirmed to The Age that a man died at the scene at the Palais Theatre.

‘Police will prepare a report for the Coroner following the death of a man in St Kilda on Wednesday, 26 March,’ a spokesperson said.

‘Emergency services were called to a theatre on Lower Esplanade about 9pm. A man, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.’

After the tragic news broke, comedian Dave Hughes paid tribute.

“All performers’ thoughts are with the family affected,’ he commented on Instagram.

Others who were in the audience also sent their well-wishes, with one also saying they were ‘still shaking’ after witnessing what unfolded.

‘It was all so sad. Our prayers and thoughts are with those affected,’ they added.

Grand Designs makes history with ?ugliest home ever? that can float away
Grand Designs viewers have made their thoughts clear on a groundbreaking build (Picture: Channel 4)

Grand Designs viewers have expressed their disbelief over a ‘gloriously mad’ project that has never been attempted before.

Airing since 1999, the Channel 4 series presented by Kevin McCloud follows unique property builds, often taking several years and presenting plenty of challenges.

Tonight it returned for its 23rd season, with the first episode following a groundbreaking project that has never been tackled in the property renovation programme’s 26-year history.

Over the past 30 years, Howard and Sarah have embarked on several ambitious building designs together, but on Grand Designs took on their most radical yet – a sleek, angled, metallic floating home on a tidal estuary near Worthing.

However, it’s fair to say that the finished property was not to every viewer’s taste, with @MillieJonesView making the bold claim on X: ‘Could this be the ugliest home ever on #GrandDesigns? I think so…’

Echoing their sentiment, @stryder444 said: ‘Doesn’t look very homely. All the comfort of a visitor centre. #granddesigns.’

Many said the home featured on last night’s season return was ‘hideous’ (Picture: Channel 4)

In a savage takedown, @truly_woolie wrote: ‘It looks like a child of Elon’s Cybertruck. Hideous. #GrandDesigns.’

@Jasonharvey70g1 added: It’s a massive cyber truck #GrandDesigns.’

Some Grand Designs viewers, though, were in awe of the scale and the ambition of Howard and Sarah’s project.

@Toady exclaimed: ‘Oh this looks gloriously mad #GrandDesigns.’

@arrmstronski commented: ‘Well, this looks ambitious. #granddesigns

Designed to look like a boat, and nestled within a houseboat community, the structure sits on an experimental, prefabricated, polystyrene slab to deal with high tides alternating with hours sitting in the mud.

On top of the floating polystyrene will is steel frame strong enough to resist the stresses of a moving structure, covered in composite, insulated steel cladding.

Upstairs there is a soaring, open-plan living space with an outer deck and views of the estuary, while below deck made accommodation for them and their teenage children, a home office and a cinema room.

The couple set aside £385,000 to spend across an 18-month schedule, also planning to do much of the work themselves and finalising the engineering as they went.

Ahead of the episode, a clip showed the pair in the early stages of the process. In one Howard explained their plan to use ‘surfboard technology’.

The home was made with blocks of polystyrene connected by glue (Picture: Channel 4)

Showing a paddleboard, he made 15 years ago, he said the construction is ‘very light and can be lifted really easily’.

‘We can make them in a workshop which means we can control the quality, and it also manages the cost because we aren’t having to rent a huge shipyard to make it in one piece,’ he said.

‘But as far as we are aware, no-one has actually used this technology to make a floating home before. We are in the unfortunate position of being the experimenters’.

In a voice-over, Kevin said the ‘radical ethos of this project is hardcore self-build territory’.

Sorry, this video isn't available any more.

The other clip showed them putting together blocks of polystyrene that are being connected by glue, which is then activated when water is sprayed on.

However, they quickly realised there’s a problem when rushing to connect blocks to find they haven’t been cut correctly and didn’t fit…

Speaking ahead of the season premiere, Kevin also offered an insight into what viewers can expect.

‘It is short, we are making something that is not too lengthy, we are making it snappy. We have two new revisits which are really meaningful.  One of the revisits is with a blended family, a couple who were both bereaved and brought their children together into a house. The house is designed by the husband and honestly, it is sort of one of my favourite projects,’ he said.

Grand Designs airs Wednesdays at 9pm on Channel 4.

ITV is about to launch a brand new quiz show (Picture: ITV)

ITV viewers are in with the chance to win £1,000,000 from the comfort of their couches.

The broadcaster has announced the new series Win Win with People’s Postcode Lottery, which will be hosted by Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins.

In what will be a TV first, those tuning in from home will be in the running to win exactly the same prize as the contestants in the studio – with one to win a guaranteed £1 million jackpot.

The unique quiz show will be ‘the most interactive quiz show ever aired in the UK, as viewers playing from the comfort of their sofas get the chance to win the same truly amazing prizes as the contestants playing in studio’.

The series then builds to an epic finale where one contestant is guaranteed to win the life-changing jackpot, with that person able to be a viewer who made it through to the final.

It will air on Saturday nights for six weeks and be ‘packed with humour, drama and life-changing decisions’.

The show will see a 40-stong group of studio contestants and viewers playing survey questions based on the views of the Great British public.

Prizes will include dream holidays, luxury cars, and tickets to some of the world’s biggest sporting and entertainment events.

‘This quiz is so extra! Imagine winning something like a car just by playing along with a gameshow you’re watching on a Saturday night in your pyjamas? I can’t wait!’ Mel said.

Meanwhile her co-host explained: ‘If I wasn’t hosting this, I’d be playing it at home; sat in my leopard print onesie, cuddling the dog whilst trying to figure out The Nation’s favourite chocolate bar. Bring it on!’

ITV’s director of entertainment and daytime Katie Rawcliffe said they were ‘delighted’ to have Mel and Sue bring the new format to life.

‘Forget shouting at the telly or rowing with your family about the answers – you can actually join in and be in with a chance of winning the same prize you’re seeing on screen,’ she said.

Win Win with People’s Postcode Lottery will air on ITV sometime this year.

Gavin and Stacey has missed out on an award to a show Joanna Page once slammed (Picture: Ken McKay/ ITV/ Shutterstock)

Gavin and Stacey has lost out on an award to another comedy show that Joanna Page once blasted.

Last year Joanna didn’t hold back when discussing her dislike of the BBC sitcom Things You Should Have Done.

Created by Lucia Keskin, the series sees her star as Lucia ‘Chi’ Morelli, a ‘stay-at-home-daughter’ who is left to fend for herself after her parents unexpectedly die.

The show, which has since been commissioned for a second season, received mixed reviews from critics.

While the iNews said Keskin’s performance was a ‘deadpan masterpiece’, the Guardian said it had ‘plenty of unrealised potential’.

Then, during an episode of her podcast Off the Telly, hosted alongside Natalie Cassidy, Joanna branded the series ‘boring’ and that she ‘shouldn’t have bothered’ watching it.

At the time, Lucia, 24, hit back at Joanna’s comments, sharing on X that ‘criticism is expected with everything it’s a given’.

‘HOWEVER there is a way of doing so without making someone feel terrible about their work whilst being in the industry themselves. Dealing with critics is hard enough,’ she added.

A year on, Lucia appears to have got the last laugh after her show took home a gong at the Royal Television Society awards last night.

The series won the scripted comedy category, winning out against Gavin and Stacey: The Finale and We Are Lady Parts.

Lucia, who uses the name Chi with a C on social media, grew a massive social media following before writing her series.

Speaking to Metro last year, she explained she’d been inspired to create something funny about grief after losing her grandad two years ago.

‘I’ve always loved dark humour and making light of times that are just horrible. When you’re struggling, it can give you relief,’ she said.

Reflecting on the experience she said it was ‘a bit ridiculous that I’ve now got my own show’. ‘I don’t know how it happened. A series two would be great, but if not, it was fun.’

In September last year it was revealed it had in fact been commissioned to return, with Lucia joking she was ‘gutted’ to have to work again.

In the second season, Chi will be forced to continue fending for herself and learn to juggle the demands of modern life whilst having to prepare for the arrival of her highly-strung Auntie Karen’s (Selin Hizli) baby.

Gavin and Stacey and Things You Should Have Done are streaming on BBC iPlayer.

A ground-breaking Bluey episode will be streaming for free very soon (Picture: BBC/ PA Wire)

A year after it first aired, the longest-ever Bluey episode will be available to watch for free in the UK.

In April last year the beloved animated childrens show released a 28-minute episode titled The Sign.

It followed Australian blue heeler puppy Bluey and her family – dad Bandit, mum Chilli and sister Bingo – as they got ready to sell their Brisbane home and prepare to move away.

Another storyline featured the upcoming marriage between Bandit’s brother Radley and Bluey’s godmother Frisky.

Some of the stars who voiced characters in the episode included Patrick Brammall, Megan Washington, Rose Byrne, Rove McManus, Deborah Mailman, and Joel Edgerton.

At the time the episode left many viewers in tears as they tuned in to the ‘emotional rollercoaster’.
