I’ll admit it, I used to scoff at celebrity fragrances. My perfume shelf was a shrine to high-end luxury brands – the likes of which you’d find in the beauty halls of Harrods or Selfridges.
To me, celeb fragrances were overly sweet, basic and lacking the longevity of designer scents. That was until Ariana Grande’s Cloud Eau de Parfum came along and shattered my snobbery.
As a chronically online person, I was often seeing fragrance fans wax lyrical about Ariana Grande’s scents on socials and, finding myself alongside the Wicked star’s collection in Superdrug one day, I picked up the baby-blue, cloud shaped bottle and spritzed to find out what all the fuss was about.

It’s sweet, don’t get me wrong, but opening notes of lavender and pear paired with a coconut core, and musky, woody base cut through the sugaryness to leave it balanced rather than sickly. In a word, it’s incredible.
I can also see why fans are comparing it to the viral (and incredibly expensive) Maison Francis Kurkdjian Baccarat Rouge 540.
It’s not exactly alike as BR540’s hallmark notes of saffron, jasmin and ambroxan simply aren’t there, but it’s definitely comparable in some aspects. I’d say it’s a sweeter, creamier and more playful version of Cloud.
Expecting the scent to disappear after an hour, I carried on with my day but started to notice the scent several hours after my Superdrug spritz. So often celebrity scents lack longevity but I must say, this one did linger on throughout the day and lasted well.
After my epiphany, it didn’t take long for a bottle of Cloud to earn a permanent spot in my fragrance collection. And I’m not the only one. The fragrance has racked up thousands of rave reviews online, with fans hailing it as their ‘most-complimented’ scent ever.
One reviewer, Dalton O, wrote: ‘Ariana Grande Cloud Eau de Parfum is everything you could want in a fragrance – sweet, dreamy, and perfectly balanced. It wraps you in a soft, airy scent that feels comforting yet luxurious. This perfume is an absolute favorite! The only downside is that men love it and I hate men.’

I agree with Kiera. It is amazing value for money. Most designer scents now retail at £65+ but Ariana Grande Cloud is set at £53 and more often than not, heavily discounted to just £39.75.
