Emmerdale’s Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) is barely holding it together, both because of the loss of girlfriend Suzy Merton (Martelle Edinborough) and the unimaginable pain at discovering Suzy was planning to end their relationship.

She’s not been the most switched on or supportive to those around her, having become consumed with learning Mary (Louise Jameson) was the one who’d caught Suzy’s eye. Being so self-absorbed, she has been missing just how bad things have become for sister Tracy (Amy Walsh).

Tracy is on the breadline, having not received a penny from Nate (Jurell Carter) – probably because it’s difficult to pay child maintenance from the bottom of a lake (if indeed that is where Nate is!).

Without child maintenance, Tracy has barely been able to keep her head above water, and Vanessa – swallowed by her world of grief – has only added to Tracy’s financial worries by constantly demanding money and being completely unsympathetic.

To keep herself afloat, Tracy has turned to a life of crime – stealing money out of the shop’s till. No one was aware of her criminal activity except Leyla (Roxy Shahidi) who died before she could tell anyone.

But Eric wants to rake over the accounts to prepare the business for sale and will thus reveal Tracy’s secret. As expected, he discovers the missing money, and Tracy is feeling guilty watching him berate himself for his carelessness while he praises her for her support.

In the throes of a wave of guilt, Tracy confesses to Vanessa. Initially, Vanessa is apologetic – she had been oblivious to her sister’s struggles and feels bad about that.

She hands Tracy the cash to make things right, who then pops it back in the till and tries to convince Eric that he merely misplaced it.

A grateful Eric takes Tracy out for a thank you lunch, but Tracy is caught off guard by a drunk Vanessa who is also in the pub. Vanessa loses her drunken cool and rips into Tracy for stealing the money. Just like that, the secret is out, and Pollard is devastated.

Hard up Tracy finds herself sacked, all thanks to Vanessa’s outburst. With nothing keeping her in the village and in need of a new job, will Tracy quit the village?

Kim Tate (Claire King) had hope in her heart in tonight’s Emmerdale as she watched Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) and Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) spend time together.

A few days ago, Dawn met Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) at Dale View where they spoke about their feelings. The two characters have been having an affair for weeks, but agreed that they’d just be seeing each other for sex and nothing else.

To make matters even more complicated, Joe and Dawn admitted they had fallen in love with each other. They then sat on the sofa and spoke about their future together, and how they’d go about telling everyone they’re an item.

Just as Dawn got excited, things were ripped away from her. Kim informed Dawn that Joe had left Home Farm for Chicago, and she couldn’t understand why. In reality, Joe had departed the village ready for his kidney transplant operation.

Because Joe hadn’t told Dawn, she was left in a state of limbo.

In tonight’s episode, Billy told Dawn that he’d be taking Clemmie and Lucas to The Hide after their dentist appointments, and wants her to attend as well.

Billy knows that things are tricky in his marriage right now, but believes one of the main causes of that is him messaging another woman on an app.

Dawn told Billy that she’d attend if she doesn’t have any work jobs to sort.

Overhearing the conversation was Kim, who wasted no time in telling Dawn that she should spend time with her husband.

How Kim sees Joe and how Dawn sees him are two completely different things. Kim knows Joe very well and knows exactly how he behaves and treats people, but Dawn thinks that she might be the person to change him for the better.

Dawn admitted to Kim that she really isn’t sure if she wants to be married to Billy anymore.

Kim did her best to listen to Dawn and suggested having family time with Billy, Clemmie and Lucas anyway. She did just this, and even Billy was surprised when she turned up.

As Kim took the children to pick some snacks, she glanced over and saw Billy and Dawn laughing together. It was a sweet moment, and it proved the spark between them has not fizzled out.

But is Dawn willing to persist and work through the problems?

Emmerdale’s Beth Cordingly has hit back at a troll, who shared a harsh comment on newcomer Bradley Riches’ Instagram.

Former Heartstopper star Bradley has been cast in the ITV soap as Lewis. Not much is known about the character right now, but he has already started filming.

‘I’m beyond excited to be joining Emmerdale!’ Bradley said when his casting was announced.

‘It’s a real bucket list moment for me, especially since it was my grandad’s favourite soap, I just know he’d be over the moon.

‘Everyone has been so lovely and welcoming, and the village is even more amazing in real life. I absolutely love my character (though I can’t spill too much just yet!), and I’m just so grateful for this opportunity.

‘I can’t wait for everyone to see what’s in store…’

Just recently, Bradley took to Instagram to share a number of pictures behind the scenes at Emmerdale.

Among the comments, a user of Instagram felt the need to share a particularly horrible message to Bradley about his acting career and how he’s ‘acting as if you are a big deal’.

Fortunately though, co-star and all-round legend Beth Cordingly was on hand to respond.

She wrote: ‘I don’t think he’s acting like that at all. I think he’s being very humble and grateful and gorgeous about it all. And who cares if you’ve never heard of him? He doesn’t. And nor do we.

Beth added: ‘We love him. That’s why we are following his page. So if you’d like to be unkind, please can you do it somewhere else, not on his page. (On my page is fine. I’m old and used to it. And I’ll just block you anyway).’

Love her.

Bradley has sadly already been in a position where he’s had to respond to more trolls, who have sent him homophobic and ableist messages.

On social media, he said: ‘But let’s talk real for a second. Some of the comments and messages I’ve received are vile. Too many people are quick to judge me regarding my sexuality or being autistic, without thinking about the impact of their words.

‘Before you speak, ask yourself: Do I really need to say this? Kindness costs nothing, but mean comments and hiding behind your screens says aLOT about you.

‘But lucky for you I won’t be behind a screen… I will be on YOUR SCREEN! If you’re mad stay mad! See you soon x.’

Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) was utterly horrified in tonight’s Emmerdale as he found daughter April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) lying on the floor with a vial of ketamine beside her.

The beloved character has faced an uphill battle with April ever since she returned from a life on the streets. Marlon lives in fear that April will disappear again and has taken to sleeping with the house keys in his pocket, and constantly treading on eggshells around her.

Because of the overwhelming panic, Marlon has also allowed April to get away with a lot.

We saw this last week, when Marlon and Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) interrupted an afternoon with Arthur Thomas (Alfie Clarke) and his mates.

April had got bored and ended up flirting with a lad she was hanging out with. When Marlon and Rhona arrived to check on her, she was walking downstairs with the boy after sleeping with him.

Rhona railed at April, but Marlon told her to stop, convinced that if they shouted and made her feel worse, she’d run away again.

Tonight’s episode opened with another reminder that April is no longer a little girl, and capable of some pretty low moves. She had snuck into the vets and stolen a vial of ketamine, and later used it on a revenge plan for her dad.

Yesterday, April learnt that Marlon had framed her friend Dylan (Fred Kettle) and planted drugs in his pocket. Today, she developed an idea to make it look as though she had overdosed.

When Marlon entered the house, April was on the floor. With the drugs beside her, he made the assumption she had taken them and was dead.

Marlon called for help as he realised April was breathing. Just as Rhona and Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) prepared to ring the emergency services, April sat up and confirmed she was absolutely fine.

The move shocked Marlon, Rhona and Vanessa but once again, it wasn’t enough for April to change her ways.

It took Rhona snapping at both Marlon and April for the tables to finally turn. She reminded the father and daughter that other people live in the same house as them, and the constant bickering needs to stop.

Perhaps hearing it from another person was what made April sit up. She apologised and so did Marlon, seemingly back on the same page.

Just as the episode drew to a close though, Marlon made a move in secret that implied his fear surrounding April leaving has not dissipated yet.

Is it really wise to do this and keep April in the dark about something yet again?

Tracy Shankley (Amy Walsh) in Emmerdale currently believes ex-partner Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) is ghosting her after moving to Shetland.

In reality, we know that he is more than likely the body Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson) saw when she fell into the frozen lake back in February.

Soon enough, Tracy and the rest of the Emmerdale residents will discover what really happened to Nate, and Amy Walsh can’t wait for the audience to see what’s ahead:

‘I think it’s going to be so exciting! I’ve just started the beginning of that story when she finds out. It’s brilliant. I love that the audience knows but she doesn’t and they’re just waiting for this pay-off and for her to find out who’s done it.

‘It’s been a long time coming. All this feeling she’s had that he’s treated her badly, and finally poor Nate gets his justice. It’s such a journey for Tracy to take. I’m really excited.’

She added: ‘I’ve just had some new scripts through and it’s really juicy stuff for me. I’ve not had anything that big for a while. It’s partly daunting because you’re going to be working a lot more, which I love, but juggling that with home life is a challenge.

‘But I just love it when it’s like that at work, when you can get in the throes of it. It’s fun.

‘It’s my favourite part of the job when you’ve got a big story like that and you know that the audience are waiting for the pay-off.’

Also in February, we discovered that Tracy has started stealing money from the shop till. It’s out of desperation – she’s a single mum, everything is expensive, and the only income Tracy has is the few days she works in the local store.

‘It’s literally the cost of living crisis personified’, Amy said.

‘Everything has gone up and her husband has vanished. She’s getting no money to help, and he was the main breadwinner in the relationship before. She only worked in the shop a few days a week, so you can see why she would be struggling financially.

‘There’s then the knock-on effect of Suzy not being here anymore, having passed away, that her and Vanessa are now sharing everything between two instead of three. It’s just the way of the world we’re living in at the moment, everything is so expensive.’

‘There’s a side of Tracy that doesn’t want to let Frankie down and wants to keep face, so her priorities of what she has spent money on haven’t been the best choices, like making sure Frankie’s got brand new shoes because she doesn’t want her to be different because her dad’s disappeared.

‘It’s a lot of poor choices. But also, it’s not her fault. She’s not getting any money from the father of her child.’

Amy goes on to explain that until Tracy learns about Nate’s fate, she will continue to feel ‘victimised’.

‘She feels like this isn’t fair and she doesn’t deserve what he’s done to her, it’s not really her fault that she’s having to make these immoral, disloyal and horrible decisions because he’s done it to her.

‘It would be different if she knew what had happened to him, but because she feels like it’s his fault, but because she feels like it’s his fault, she can probably justify her actions a bit more because she’s a victim in all this too.’

There’s a frightening moment ahead in Emmerdale when a village youngster is left fighting for their life over a cup of coffee.

Could mysterious John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) have something to do with it? He’s out to prove himself to a suspicious Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) and the timing is impeccable.

Much like when he needed to prove himself to Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter), then miraculously found her unconscious on the floor and in need of saving.

John is under the spotlight with viewers for potentially murdering Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) and for possibly being Chas’ spiker. He also disposed of Anthony Fox’s (Nicholas Day) body with the utmost ease through skills no one knew he had.

So, it’s not above the realms of possibility that he would orchestrate a near-death experience to help make himself look good.

It’s Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) who is suddenly facing death, which is particularly unkind given that he is still grieving the loss of his mum.

After making a few mistakes at work, John is being watched by Liam, who is fuming when he learns John misdiagnoses Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton) as it brings the surgery into disrepute.

As a knee-jerk reaction, Liam tells John he will be reviewing all his work.

John confides in Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins) about how unsettled the thought of it is making him. He’s made quite a few mistakes as a medic, it transpires. The two bond as Vic admits to making tonnes of her own mistakes and encourages him to forgive himself.

What John needs is a moment to reassert his medical skills. Jacob takes a sip of the wrong coffee and immediately experiences a huge reaction – his body starts to shut down as it enters anaphylactic shock and worse still – he’s lost his AAI pen.

He quickly loses consciousness, but John sees the commotion and runs to Jacob’s lifeless body. He checks Jacob’s vitals as Vic panics. Can John save the day?

Did he orchestrate this moment to prove himself? Could he have slipped something in Jacob’s coffee to make himself the hero?

Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) is about to make a huge decision regarding her future at Home Farm in Emmerdale, once son Thomas is found near a gun.

Life for Gabby has surprisingly been going quite well recently. Ever since she started seeing Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson), the two characters have been focused on building a really strong connection.

Despite the fact they live two very different lives, it kind of works!

In upcoming episodes, Kim Tate (Claire King) finds herself getting distracted by a work call and fails to realise she’s left her gun by Thomas. Just as she leaves, Thomas eyes the weapon up.

Returning a short while later, Gabby is furious to find her son playing around the gun box and fumes at Kim, accusing her of undermining her parenting.

To Kim’s surprise, Gabby then announces plans for her, Vinny and Thomas to move into Wishing Well with the Dingles.

However, Gabby is quickly left wondering if she’s made a mistake, as she starts to clash with Sam Dingle (James Hooton).

Sam is feeling the same tension between him and Gabby and decides to do something about it.

He finds Kim and plants a seed of doubt about Gabby potentially moving to Leeds and it leaves her worried.

Kim heads to see Gabby and tells her that she can move into Dale View so Thomas is still able to live in the village. Excited to begin their new life, Gabby and Vinny get to work on moving in.

Meanwhile, having seen through Sam’s manipulation, Kim is impressed by his tenacity…

Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) has got herself into a right mess in Emmerdale.

The character began an affair with Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) shortly after her dad’s death at Christmas.

At first, sleeping with Joe provided her with a distraction from the grief she was experiencing, and general stress that comes with being a mum to three children.

However, when Dawn started developing genuine feelings for Joe, the situation started to change.

During a conversation with Joe about their night in a hotel, Dawn spoke about the facilities there, and how they could take part in a couples massage.

Seemingly pretending they’re an item made Joe push Dawn away, which left her annoyed.

A few days later though, Dawn met Joe at Dale View, where they spoke about their feelings. As much as they both tried to deny it, Joe and Dawn were falling in love with each other.

The two characters then discussed becoming a proper couple, but Dawn knew Joe’s plan to move to another country simply wouldn’t be possible with her children.

Just as Dawn got excited about something new, it was ripped away from her. She was informed by Kim (Claire King) that Joe had left for Chicago, and wouldn’t be coming back.

In tonight’s episode, while Joe did leave the Dales, he didn’t go to America. He had just completed his illegal kidney transplant with Doctor Crowley (James Hillier), and their deal was to leave once it had been sorted.

Not having any contact from Joe has made Dawn feel terrible. We saw her snap at Billy (Jay Kontzle), and then appeared reluctant to attend marriage counselling when he put forward the idea.

During a chat with Kim, Dawn admitted that she can’t help but feel as though she’s found something better in Joe.

While Kim listened to Dawn, she believed that what she was feeling would eventually pass, and her relationship with Billy would get back on track.

Dawn seemed unsure. Is she really prepared to end her marriage with Billy, hoping that Joe might return for her?

Joe Tate’s (Ned Porteous) kidney transplant has been a success in Emmerdale.

We learnt about the character’s health problems a few weeks ago, when he told Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) that he lives with AAT deficiency and as a result, has developed chronic kidney disease.

He attempted to get a kidney from his brother Noah Dingle (Jack Downham) but he wasn’t a match. Joe then turned his attention to his uncle Caleb Miligan (William Ash), who had a successful blood connection to him.

Caleb was stabbed and taken to Doctor Crowley (James Hillier), who then stabilised him and performed the organ donation afterwards.

As part of the illegal and unethical plan, Joe and Crowley reached an agreement of what would happen once it had been completed.

Is Joe Tate leaving Emmerdale?

Yes, Joe Tate is set to leave Emmerdale now his transplant has happened.

Crowley and Joe agreed that once the transplant had taken place, they would both disappear from the village.

Because Caleb has seen an unwell Joe in the Dales, there was always going to be a chance he got suspicious seeing Joe looking remarkably healthier in a matter of days.

In tonight’s episode, which is now available to view on ITVX, we see Joe leave the hospital for Dubai after saying goodbye to Crowley.

Will he ever come back?

Emmerdale has previously confirmed to us that because Joe Tate is a villainous character, there will come a time he ‘faces his comeuppance’.

They told us: ‘Sometimes our characters go rogue acting out of desperation or whilst under pressure. Joe Tate’s desperate actions are not being held up as an example and as with any soap villain he will ultimately get his comeuppance.’

Joe was certainly hesitant about leaving, given his developing connection with Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley).

The two characters were having an affair, and revealed a few days ago that they had fallen in love with each other.

It took Joe by surprise, but could he come back for Dawn, ahead of his downfall?

Emmerdale star Beth Cordingly has spoken out about a change that has been made to her character Ruby Fox-Miligan. 

As of last week, the character is now billed as simply Ruby Miligan in the credits. 

The tweak follows a huge few months for Ruby in the show, after it came to light she was abused by her father Anthony Fox (Nicholas Day) as a child. 

She also recently confessed to her husband Caleb Miligan (William Ash) that she was the person who murdered Anthony after he was found dead in January.

On Monday, Beth shared a post on Instagram updating fans as she made her way to the Emmerdale studios in Leeds. 

In the comments, one fan asked if she would be changing the reference to her character’s name in her Instagram bio. 

Beth replied: ‘Oh!!! Good point!! Sigh. It’s good to ditch the association but Fox Miligan sounds so much better. 

‘No more 🦊 !!’

After a traumatic few months for Ruby, Beth recently hinted that there won’t be any respite for her character just yet.

On Beth’s Instagram page, she shared a video that confirmed she’s been filming ‘without either of [her] lovely Miligans’.

She said: ‘No Steph, no Caleb today. Just one KitKat Crunchy! But it’s all fine because I have had…Pierre!’.

In the caption the star wrote: ‘Introducing….PIERRE! Everybody’s favourite. He’s a marvel, darling.

‘Ps. In case anyone’s wondering, I am supposed to look sh*t. Ruby’s been up all night and she’s in all sorts of trouble. OBVS.’

Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) has left Emmerdale following his kidney transplant.

But he will return.

Joe has been on a desperate mission since the start of the year to find a blood relative able to donate their kidney to him. His first port of call was brother Noah (Jack Downham), but he turned out to not be a match.

He then asked Manpreet (Rebecca Sarker) for a blood sample from Caleb (William Ash). She did as Joe asked, he got it tested, and then learnt he was a match.

The actual process of getting Caleb to the operating table involved him getting stabbed by a man called Shaun. Joe then found Caleb and rushed him to Doctor Crowley (James Hillier), who eventually stabilised him and then performed the kidney transplant.

As part of Joe and Crowley’s plan, they both agreed that once the operation had been complete, they would leave the village to decrease suspicion.

This seemed easy enough when the plan first developed, but Joe wasn’t counting on falling in love with Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) while in the Dales.

In tonight’s episode, Joe and Crowley said their goodbyes. Joe had announced he would be going back to Dubai and Crowley let him go, despite noting the medical risks surrounding travelling so soon after an op.

Meanwhile, in the village, Dawn was wondering what to do about her future. Just a few days ago she admitted to Joe that she was in love with him, and they were even talking about their life together.

Unaware of what Joe is doing, Dawn found comfort in a bottle of alcohol.

In the taxi, Joe deleted Dawn’s number and got ready for his flight back to Dubai.

Emmerdale has previously confirmed to us that Joe will ‘ultimately get his comeuppance’ given he is a villainous character, which certainly makes it seem as though tonight’s episode isn’t his last…

For most of 2024 in Emmerdale, Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) struggled through a terrible ordeal as the man she married, Tom King (James Chase), subjected her to systematic and horrific abuse. But now  Belle has seen Tom jailed for his crimes and is busy picking up her life and looking forward to the future. 

Tom was sentenced to three years in prison after Belle first bravely opened up to her family about the abuse she’d endured and then told the police about Tom’s crimes.

In a powerful episode in December we saw her giving her evidence in court and also heard the real-life voices of women who’d survived domestic abuse. 

In February Belle again faced up to Tom when she visited him in prison to tell him she was starting divorce proceedings against him. She said she was working hard to heal her life and divorce would be ‘the cherry on the top.’ 

One of the first things she did to take back control was returning to work. Tom had emotionally blackmailed her into giving up work early in their relationship as he wanted her to be dependent on him rather than having outside interests and independence.  

So accepting Leyla (Roxy Shahidi) and Suzy (Martelle Edinborough)’s invitation to join them again at Take A Vow was a huge step, but one that she only hesitated for a second before agreeing to. Very quickly the old Belle, the one who was good with clients and quick at solving problems, began to reappear. 

Tragically, soon afterwards Suzy and Leyla both lost their lives in the fateful limo crash that also claimed the life of Amy Barton (Natalie Ann Jamieson).  

Belle has continued to work in the business following the deaths of her colleagues, even taking on the task of arranging Liam (Jonny McPherson) and Chas (Lucy Pargeter)’s wedding. 

In upcoming episodes it becomes clear that, following Leyla’s death, the business now belongs to her son Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant).

Trainee doctor Jacob has neither the time nor the inclination to involve himself in his mum’s wedding business, so he makes Belle an offer. 

He asks her if she would like to buy Take A Vow. Is she ready for this next step in her life? 

Sarah Sugden’s (Katie Hill) foray into a life of crime in Emmerdale is about to take a turn.

Sarah is loving the wild ride Kammy (Shebz Miah) is giving her, having involved herself fully in his farmyard thievery. She’s finally feeling alive.

They met after she caught him trying to nick a quad bike from Butler’s, but instead of reporting him, she offered to join forces instead – for a 50% cut.

Sarah also managed to get him a job at the garage after he proved himself a dab hand with a car engine, and Cain (Jeff Hordley) was mightily impressed with his skills. Now Sarah has the chance to get even closer to him, much Charity’s chagrin.

Charity is keeping a beady eye on her granddaughter, concerned for what she might be getting mixed up in. Kammy does appear to be here to stay – even Ross’ (Mike Parr) warning didn’t seem to put him off and instead saw Ross get outwitted by the young crook.

But Sarah has no time for Charity’s worries, she’s having far too good a time. And she’s just as bad as Kammy.

She offers Kammy a joyride in a sports car that’s in the garage. She’s surprised when Kammy refuses, but his honesty does nothing for him when the owner returns and accuses him of scratching the car.

Cain has no time for anything that might harm his business, particularly when the customer cancels his contract.

It’s a big one to lose, and Cain is having none of it. In response, he sacks both Kammy and his own flesh and blood.

This is devastating for Sarah, but now she has free time on her hands, will it push her further into a life of crime?

Recently in Emmerdale, Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) attempted to get rid of April Windsor’s (Amelia Flanagan) homeless friend Dylan (Fred Kettle) by planting drugs on him.

Marlon’s intention was to force Dylan to leave his home so April could then focus on moving forward in her life and processing the ordeals she went through while on the streets. He thought it would be a simple plan, but he didn’t think about Dylan taking an overdose in the aftermath of the situation.

When Marlon found Dylan in hospital, the two ended up having an honest conversation.

They concluded they had something in common because they both wanted what was best for April. With that, Dylan accepted Marlon’s offer to pay for private rehab and prepared to leave the hospital.

Dylan then requested that he visited April one final time. A paranoid Marlon took him back home, where Dylan told April his plan to go to rehab. He said that Marlon was paying for it, but never told her about him planting the drugs. He also told his friend that they shouldn’t be in contact once he gets there, which broke April’s heart.

Dylan’s decision painted him in a bad light and Marlon in a good one. It was a massive risk but in upcoming episodes, Marlon can’t deal with his guilt and finally tells April about his plan.

Prior to the confession, Marlon once again tries to connect with April, but his efforts aren’t enough. He then tells April the truth about Dylan, and she’s understandably stunned.

‘The decision to tell her comes quite quickly’, star Mark Charnock said.

‘She’s very sad, she’s missing Dylan, Marlon’s hidden a letter that Dylan’s sent because even though he and Dylan have an understanding that Dylan will keep out of the way and that Marlon’s paying for his rehab, they have an understanding that he won’t be in contact – that was Dylan’s idea. And so the minute he sees the letter, the alarm bells start ringing.

‘They’re having a conversation on the bench outside Bob’s cafe and he realises in the middle of the conversation that actually there just comes a point where you just have to tell the truth.

‘I think Marlon thinks “If I just blab this out now, she’ll hear it, she’ll understand it and she’ll see it in his eyes that he’s done it out of love” and that doesn’t happen. So he tells her and it’s pretty disastrous.’

As things develop, April heads to the vets and steals some ketamine. When Marlon gets home, he is shocked to find his daughter unconscious on the floor, with the drugs beside her.

Mark explained what happens next:

‘She fakes an overdose to teach them a lesson, which is so horrifying. Marlon’s been speaking to Rhona in the cafe and he’s going to have it out with her, “Let’s just sort this out, we can do this, you’re my daughter, we can get through anything” and he walks in and on the floor he sees his daughter with what appears to be a used ketamine vial next to her, and the horror is total and instantaneous.

‘After everything they’ve been through – Dylan’s overdose, April’s disappearance – for all the world it looks like she’s dead. He thinks that she’s not quite dead, he’s screaming about getting help and then she sits up and says “That’s what karma feels like”.’

‘It’s awful, it’s a really good piece of drama, it’s an awful thing for a parent to have to go through but I think what they’re doing is they’re showing the extent to which their trust has been broken and it is a real turning point.’

Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) receives some worrying news in upcoming Emmerdale episodes, and it’ll have a huge impact on Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) and Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter).

Following the deaths of Suzy and Leyla, Belle is currently working at Take a Vow on her own. It’s a lot of work, but Belle is feeling more than ready to tackle the challenge.

Even if that means dealing with some pretty worrying emails too.

This new video shows the moment Liam and Chas arrive at the business to discuss their upcoming wedding.

Chas rails at Liam and quickly questions him about an email that was sent to Belle, which details him wanting to cancel the big day.

Liam assures Chas and says he absolutely didn’t send the message, and then takes a look at it himself.

Very quickly Liam realises the email address doesn’t belong to him, and also proves it by pointing out that Cavanagh has been spelt wrong. Chas then concludes Ella is behind it, and fears she won’t let them be happy until she gets what she wants.

Ella left the village a few days ago after being driven out by pretty much everyone. She was accused of drugging Chas and putting her in hospital but sadly, as much as Ella protested her innocence, no one believed her.

She got into her car and drove off, but we know she will go back to the Dales before her official exit, as she continues plotting revenge on Liam and Chas.

Ella will hold Mandy (Lisa Riley) hostage with a knife to try and get Liam to Tenants. He does this, but Ella then leaves and races into the woods – and Liam follows her.

Liam confronts her and, backed into a corner, Ella shoves him. He falls and hits his head, rendering him lifeless. After his recent head injury, it could well be traumatic.

Ella is left sobbing over his body. Will Swirling find her before she flees again? And was she actually innocent all along?

Caleb Miligan (William Ash) is not the man he was when he came to Emmerdale. For a start he used to have two kidneys, and now he only has one. 

Caleb was targeted by Joe Tate (Ned Porteous), who needed a kidney transplant and decided to look for a donor among his available relatives.

The more gullible and younger Noah Dingle (Jack Downham) was the first choice, but Joe’s attempt to get him to go to Dubai where the procedure would then have taken place was thwarted by Charity (Emma Atkins).  

Then an attempt to drug Noah led to him escaping and wandering into the path of a limo driven by Charity, which caused the fateful limo crash.  

Joe decided to cast his quest for an organ elsewhere and luckily his uncle Caleb proved to be a match. Not that Caleb realised this as he was tested without him knowing after Manpreet (Rebecca Sarker) tricked him into giving a blood sample.  

Recently we saw Caleb being deliberately stabbed, so that he could then be treated by Joe’s surgeon Dr Crowley (James Hillier), who fixed up the stab wound and also whipped out one of Caleb’s kidneys at the same time.

Caleb almost died on the operating table, as the original stab wound had been quite serious. Crowley managed to save his life and complete the transplant successfully. 

As far as Caleb is aware, his kidney was damaged during the attack on him and Crowley had no option but to remove it to save his life. The person who stabbed him has been arrested, but the police don’t have enough evidence to charge him. 

Caleb vows that his attacker will face justice, and his brother Cain (Jeff Hordley) pledges to do everything he can to see the attacker put behind bars.  

Caleb’s near-death experience has a profound effect on the two brothers, who were previously at war over Cain sleeping with Ruby (Beth Cordingly). Caleb is determined to make the most of his family and never take them for granted and he and Cain have a beer together. 

In heartwarming scenes the brothers assert that, if anything should happen to either of them, they’d always care for each other’s families. 

It’s a rare moment of togetherness for Cain and Caleb – and in their new-found unity, if they ever discover that Joe Tate was behind the whole scheme he would be in extremely serious trouble.  

And with Ross (Mike Parr) already suspicious that Joe just happened to be on the scene when Caleb was attacked, Joe’s day of reckoning could be coming sooner than he’d hope. 

Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) was once again reminded that April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) isn’t a little girl anymore as he discovered she had slept with a random boy at a party.

Ever since April returned to the village, the main thing Marlon has struggled with is knowing what boundaries to create for her.

He’s terrified about losing her to the streets again so he implements rules, but they make April feel smothered and like a young child. On the other hand, when the rules aren’t as strict and April has more freedom, it leads to problems such as bringing her friend Dylan (Fred Kettle) over.

This week, it felt like Marlon and April turned a corner.

In tonight’s episode, April mentioned to Marlon that Arthur (Alfie Clarke) had invited her over with a few other friends. Marlon encouraged April to go along, but the dynamic between her and her peers was awkward.

The group were all similar in age but April feels older due to the experiences she went through on the streets. As a result, it left her feeling as though playing video games and chatting was kind of boring.

When she went into the kitchen, April got talking to another lad and eventually, they started to flirt.

Meanwhile, Marlon and Rhona (Zoe Henry) were trying to enjoy some time together. Unfortunately, Marlon’s mind was solely on April and very quickly, he convinced himself that checking in on her would be a good idea.

Just as Marlon and Rhona walked through Mulberry Cottage though, they saw April and the lad walking down the stairs adjusting their clothes. Poor April was utterly humiliated and ran out.

In the village, Rhona attempted to confront April but Marlon told her to stop. Again, his fear of losing his daughter overwhelmed him – but Rhona argued that it wasn’t a moment to give April space.

She said that Marlon needs to stop being April’s friend and be her dad again because if he doesn’t lay out better ground rules, the version she was before she ran away definitely won’t ever return.

As much as challenging April’s behaviour scares him, Marlon knew that Rhona was right.

Ross Barton (Michael Parr) opened up about his complicated family history in tonight’s Emmerdale, in an attempt to help Steph Miligan (Georgia Jay) feel better.

A few weeks ago, Steph learnt that her granddad Anthony is also her biological father, as a result of him sexually abusing Ruby (Beth Cordingly) when she was a child.

Steph hasn’t been able to get her head around this development, and is now experiencing problems with her self confidence.

A few days ago, she was in the pub looking at herself through the camera app on her phone. Her image then merged into one of Anthony’s, a reminder that Steph continuously sees him whenever she looks at her reflection.

She then googled plastic surgery, convinced changing her appearance would help her erase Anthony from her mind.

In tonight’s episode, Steph approached Ross and was finally ready to talk. After learning of Anthony’s secrets, Steph stopped seeing Ross, telling him that she isn’t who he thinks she is.

Now with a clearer head, Steph was able to sit down and tell Ross about Anthony’s connection to her, but didn’t say that Ruby had murdered him.

Calling herself a ‘freak’, Steph became overwhelmed and Ross did his best to help, noting that his family has a dark past as well.

Ross told Steph that his mum, Emma Barton, smothered him when he was a baby.

When they lived in the village, Emma was also responsible for shooting Ross’ brother Finn, holding their dad James hostage, and causing the Hotten Bypass crash.

To name but a few crimes, of course.

Ross listed all of these to try and make Steph feel less alone. He meant well, and when Ross tried to kiss Steph, he listened to her when she said she didn’t want to be intimate with him.

It was a sweet moment from Ross, which highlighted that away from the trouble he causes and the comedic moments, the character certainly has a good heart.

Emmerdale’s Katie Hill has opened up about her relationship with a co-star who is always there for her.

The actress plays Sarah Sugden in the ITV soap, who is facing a difficult journey after being dumped by Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant), and getting told by Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) that she isn’t actually pregnant.

The one person who has been by Sarah’s side ever since she learnt of the positive pregnancy test is Charity Dingle, played by Emma Atkins.

Charity is a protective grandma which can sometimes annoy Sarah as she grows and explores different paths in life. Even though the characters sometimes clash, the same cannot be said for Katie Hill and Emma in real life.

‘My relationship with Emma is amazing. She’s the most funny, lovely person ever. We share a dressing room together’, Katie said in a chat recently.

‘So, in between scenes we’re always catching up. Emma’s more like a best friend to me. She’d always be there if I was ever having a bit of a bad day. She’s the first one to recognise it and ask me if I’m okay. And I know that I could turn to her for anything, if I had any questions. We have a really nice relationship with each other.’

Reflecting on the relationships she has with her other co-stars, Katie added: ‘We’re all really close buddies. And again, if I had any questions, I know that I could go to any of them for anything. And they’re just a really good bunch of people to work with.

‘My favourite scenes are the Woolpack scenes, all the parties, the weddings, because they’re just the most mad days. Each day is different. We have a really good relationship, all of us. We have a WhatsApp group chat that we’re chatting in all the time. It’s really nice to have that sort of family feeling at work with them all.’

A few days ago, Sarah met a new face called Kammy.

The character, played by newcomer Shebz Miah, started as he meant to go on by getting on the wrong side of the Dingles and stealing a quad bike from Moira’s (Natalie J Robb) farm.

Sarah became interested in the character and since then, they’ve started working together at Cain’s (Jeff Hordley) garage, and finding time to cause mischief as well.

This eventually leads to somewhat of a love triangle storyline, as Jacob develops feelings of jealousy after ending his relationship with Sarah so suddenly.

‘It’s funny as well because they’re so different. Kammy’s a bit of a bad boy. He’s a bit of a cheeky chap’, Katie revealed.

‘Jacob, he’s a trainee doctor, way more sensible than Kammy is. So, it’ll be interesting to see which way she goes. But it’s been fun for me, dipping in and out of both sides of Sarah. Because when I’ve been doing the stuff with Kammy, the Dingle side comes out of her and then I think Jacob brings her back.

‘So, it’s been really fun going between the two guys. We’ll have to wait and see what happens with that.’

Emmerdale’s Beth Cordingly has teased more drama ahead for her character Ruby Fox-Miligan.

The beloved resident of the Dales has been at the centre of a huge storyline this year, which has seen her family discover Anthony, Ruby’s dad, sexually abused her when she was a child.

Anthony was murdered by Ruby a few weeks ago. In the aftermath, Ruby, Caleb (William Ash) and a number of other characters agreed to keep the truth about Anthony’s death a secret, knowing the repercussions would be life-changing.

Due to the fact Steph (Georgia Jay) was hellbent on finding out why her granddad disappeared from the Dales, Ruby ended up telling her everything, including the fact Anthony is also Steph’s biological father.

It’s been a traumatic time for the family but recently, star Beth Cordingly hinted at the fact there won’t be any respite for Ruby just yet.

On Beth’s Instagram page, she shared a video that confirmed she’s been filming ‘without either of [her] lovely Miligans’.

She said: ‘No Steph, no Caleb today. Just one KitKat Crunchy! But it’s all fine because I have had…Pierre!’.

In the caption the star wrote: ‘Introducing….PIERRE! Everybody’s favourite. He’s a marvel, darling.

‘Ps. In case anyone’s wondering, I am supposed to look sh*t. Ruby’s been up all night and she’s in all sorts of trouble. OBVS.’

Intriguing!

Ruby and Steph currently remain unaware that Caleb has been stabbed and is in hospital.

He was attacked by a man called Shaun, who was working with Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) in his plan to secure a kidney transplant.

Joe got Caleb to Doctor Crowley (James Hillier), but the episode ended with Caleb flatlining, leaving the two villains fearing they might have his death on their hands…

Joe Tate’s (Ned Porteous) kidney donation has been a success in Emmerdale, but his hopes of carrying on as though nothing has happened have been completely destroyed by news from Doctor Crowley (James Hillier).

Yesterday, Joe’s uncle Caleb Miligan (William Ash) was stabbed by a man called Shaun. They had previously attempted to drug Caleb to knock him unconscious ahead of the operation, but it didn’t work.

Once Shaun committed the crime and legged it, Joe arrived outside the depot. Looking like the hero, Joe pulled Caleb into his car and drove him to Crowley.

The surgeon managed to stabilise Caleb ready for the op but just as he updated Joe, Caleb started to flatline.

In tonight’s episode, Crowley instructed Joe to get ready for his surgery as he worked hard to keep Caleb alive.

After the operation, Ruby (Beth Cordingly) was finally informed that Caleb was in hospital after being stabbed.

As she raced over there, Joe was waking up and had discovered the donation was a success.

Ruby and Steph (Georgia Jay) were told that Caleb had lost his kidney as a result of the injuries sustained in the stabbing, but wasn’t informed it had been donated to his nephew.

As Crowley spoke with the trio, a police officer arrived and he was immediately on edge.

Just before the episode ended, Crowley visited Joe and said the police officer revealed that Shaun has been arrested.

It was an eventuality Joe had not considered, which now means the risks surrounding the truth getting exposed have increased even more.

Crowley and Joe are both aware that they could go to prison if the donation is uncovered, but Joe told him that if Caleb finds out, their fate will be worse than prison time.

The clock is ticking again – can Joe and Crowley get away before the kidney donation is revealed?

There’s a dramatic escalation in Ella Forster (Paula Lane)’s behaviour in upcoming Emmerdale episodes – and one show legend is left terrified for her life when Ella takes her hostage. 

Ella’s jealousy over Liam (Jonny McPherson) and Chas (Lucy Pargeter)’s engagement led them to believe that she’d tampered with Chas’s pain medication, causing her to overdose and collapse.  

Protesting her innocence, Ella tried to persuade Liam that Chas was addicted to the painkillers and had probably overdosed herself.

With her actions causing increasing stress and worry for Chas and Liam, Manpreet (Rebecca Sarker) asked her to move out immediately, causing Ella to retaliate by telling everyone about Manpreet’s racy pictures that led to her being blackmailed – something a horrified Manpreet had told her in confidence. 

It’s now blatantly clear that Ella will stop at nothing, and when she starts harassing Chas and Liam by constantly messaging and calling them, they’re disturbed. John (Oliver Farnworth) advises Liam to turn his phone off, which seems to work for a while. 

Ella has simply changed tactics, however, and the next thing that happens is that Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper) receives an email cancelling Liam and Chas’s wedding, and it looks like Ella’s work. 

Not knowing where to turn, Liam calls the police for help. It’s not long before the pub window is smashed, an action which Chas is certain Ella is behind.

As she talks this over with Liam the couple are unaware that Ella is close by and listening to everything they’re saying, her rage only increasing. 

Ella then turns up at Tenant House looking for Liam. Mandy (Lisa Riley) is home alone and refuses to go along with Ella’s demand for her to summon Liam back to the house.

So Ella takes Mandy hostage at knife-point, forcing her to stay at the house until Liam agrees to come over.  

Rationalising this bonkers move, actor Jonny McPherson said: ‘I think he knows that if it came to it, he could overpower Ella. I think he just wants to help her, that plays out in the way that the scene evolves – he just wants to give her a cuddle and tell her that everyone will be alright.’

It’s clear that Ella is now beyond the point where Mandy can reason with her and, despite their previous friendship, Ella seems prepared to carry out her threats unless Mandy gets Liam to come to the house. 

What does she have in mind? And will Mandy – and Liam – make it out alive? 

Life has been unravelling for Eric Pollard (Chris Chittel) for quite some time since receiving his Parkinson’s diagnosis in Emmerdale, although it’s mostly poor decisions and not his illness to blame.

While yes, his declining health has had a significant impact, his decision to squander partner Brenda’s (Lesley Dunlop) life savings on crypto was certainly a catalyst.

It saw him left completely broke and single, and contemplating burning down his own business just so that he could pay Brenda back and right his dreadful wrong.

Some might say bad Karma is now following him around as he is now losing even more cash thanks to his ‘top employee’ Tracy (Amy Walsh).

Eric recently gave Tracy the responsibility of keeping the books for the business, unaware that she’s had her hand in the till to the tune of £2,000 plus.

Viewers learned of Tracy’s theft in a flashback conversation with Leyla (Roxy Shahidi), who caught her pocketing £20. Tracy then confessed she was so hard up having received no maintenance from Nate, she’d been forced to steal to keep afloat.

It’s likely not long until Pollard realises that he’s been the victim of embezzlement and betrayal of the worst kind – and that he’s even further away from paying Brenda back than he realised – but first, there’s another heartbreak.

He’s still desperate to make things up to Brenda. With his health on the downward slope, the one thing keeping him going is the thought he could one day win Brenda back.

So, Pollard is floored when Jimmy (Nick Miles) tells Pollard that there might be a chance for him with Brenda. She’s won a cruise and has a plus one ticket, and perhaps it’s Pollard she wants to take.

This is the ray of hope Pollard desperately and he gears himself up to make the case of his life in appealing for her to consider taking him back.

The next day Brenda wants to talk to him. Eric is beside himself with joy as he thinks this is his moment.

But he’s got completely the wrong idea as Brenda reveals the real reason that she wants to talk to him, and it’s not a reconciliation, it’s more bad news.

How will Pollard cope with this fresh blow?

When Ross Barton (Michael Parr) returned to Emmerdale, it wasn’t long until he was causing trouble between Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) and Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb).

It was Joe Tate’s (Ned Porteous) arrival back to the village that changed the dynamic between Ross and Charity. Once Joe attempted to worm his way back into Noah Dingle’s (Jack Downham) life, Charity asked Ross to scare him away.

Ross was more than happy to help Charity out due to his own history with Joe, and because he wanted to spend more time with their son Moses. A few years ago, an acid attack was organised for Joe, but Ross became the victim instead.

As a result of Charity and Ross both wanting to see the back of Joe Tate, they’ve spent quite a bit of time together.

Which now has the potential to cause a whole lot of bother.

In tonight’s episode, Ross returned from Liverpool. He had been told that his brother Pete Barton was in hospital after being attacked.

The former resident of the village was only put in A&E because of Joe, who wanted Ross out of the way before his organ donation plan started.

When Ross arrived in the pub, Charity told him that Joe had gone to Chicago.

A suspicious Ross pulled out his phone and said that wasn’t true, because a tracker he had put on Joe’s car says he’s still in England.

Specifically, not too far away from the village.

With that, Cagney and Lacey hopped in the car and drove off.

On the way, Ross and Charity realised they had taken a wrong turn, so they stopped for a debrief. As this happened, Charity reapplied her lipliner.

The two characters were clearly getting on well, but Ross made the dynamic a bit awkward when he later said it seemed as though Charity was going to make a move on him.

They were then distracted due to finding Joe’s car, which was actually being driven by Sam Dingle (James Hooton) for a valet.

Their plan reaching a dead end, Ross and Charity prepared to head back home.

Tonight’s scenes highlighted Ross and Charity’s friendship once more, but could it turn into something more?

Will the two exes decide the chemistry between them is growing again and start an affair?

Kidney Research UK has raised concerns about the portrayal of a storyline in Emmerdale, which has seen Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) go to desperate lengths to have a kidney donated to him.

Joe lives with AAT deficiency and as a result, he has developed chronic kidney disease. This week, after learning his uncle Caleb Miligan (William Ash) was a match to him, he began a plan that kickstarted the operation process.

Because Joe never asked Caleb, the unethical and illegal plan saw him stabbed by a man called Shaun to knock him unconscious.

Joe then found Caleb outside the depot and took him to Doctor Crowley (James Hillier), the surgeon working with Joe in return for a lot of money.

Due to the fact Joe has gone down this dark route, leading charity Kidney Research UK has written to the producers of Emmerdale (along with Coronation Street and EastEnders) to remind them of the importance in telling a story about kidney disease accurately and responsibly, ‘rather than using it as a sensationalist plot device’.

They have said that with better consultation, soaps will be able to deliver storylines without ‘sacrificing medical realism’ or ‘reinforcing harmful misconceptions about kidney disease’.

Lucy Sreeves, Executive Director at Kidney Research UK said: ‘For millions, kidney disease is not just a plot twist.

‘We appreciate that soaps need drama, but reckless storylines send the wrong message, creating fear and confusion at a time when we desperately need more people to understand kidney disease and step forward as living donors.

‘Six people die every week waiting for a transplant, organ donation is a highly regulated process and misleading portrayals ignore the harsh reality of being on the waiting list.’

She added: ‘Today we’re urging writers and producers to consider the positive difference they could make to the 7.2 million people living with kidney disease in the UK by ensuring their plot twists are accurate and plausible.

‘Soap operas have come a long way in recognising the importance of sensitive and accurate portrayals of events that affect a character’s mental health, and it is time the same approach applied to devastating conditions like kidney disease.’

The charity has extended their offer to all production teams to connect writers with researchers, patients and clinicians who are able to provide insights into the impact of kidney disease.

Lucy Griffiths, who has a young son who lives with kidney disease, also noted:

‘People have no comprehension of what a gruelling, invasive and dangerous treatment dialysis is and how major a transplant is. If the soaps got this right, they could educate people about how life after living donation carries on.

‘How agreeing to share a loved one’s organs in the most terrible circumstances can give someone the chance of a “normal life”.

‘Don’t insult patients and their families by sensationalising this cruel and debilitating disease, it’s dramatic enough already.’

An Emmerdale spokesperson told Metro: ‘Emmerdale covers a wide ranging scope of subjects in its storytelling. From births to deaths and everything in between, the nightly stories entertain, inform and raise awareness.

‘We regularly work with organisations, help groups and charities for the portrayal of many of these subjects. But sometimes our characters go rogue acting out of desperation or whilst under pressure. Joe Tate’s desperate actions are not being held up as an example and as with any soap villain he will ultimately get his comeuppance.’

Caleb Miligan’s (William Ash) life is at risk in Emmerdale, having been targeted by Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) in an organ harvesting plot.

It was recently revealed that Joe was suffering from chronic kidney disease, and was in need of a transplant.

He soon discovered that uncle Caleb was a match, and planned to have him knocked unconscious and put under the knife.

However, the plan didn’t play out as intended, and soon Joe resorted to even more desperate measures by hiring someone to stab Caleb.

In tonight’s episode, Joe bundled the injured man into his car and drove him to Dr Crowley, who attempted to stabilise him to remove his kidney.

Unfortunately, things took a worrying turn when Caleb began to flatline on the operating table. Will he make it out alive?

Does Caleb Miligan die in Emmerdale?

Things aren’t looking great for Caleb right now, but it has yet to be confirmed how this story will end.

Fans can take comfort in the fact that the show hasn’t yet announced an exit for Caleb, which could be proof that he is set to pull through.

On top of that, the ITV soap has killed off four major characters in the last few months, and confirmed the death of a fifth.

Even for a village as unlucky as Emmerdale, it seems unlikely for yet another villager to lose their life so soon.

There’s also the fact that Caleb’s family, Steph (Georgia Jay) and Ruby (Beth Cordingly) have had a traumatic few months, with the revelation that Steph is actually Anthony Fox’s biological daughter.

Would Emmerdale bosses kill Caleb off before further exploring the dynamics of the family as they navigate this trauma together?

On the flip side, soaps are no strangers to airing shock deaths without announcing them prior to airing, so could we be set to wave goodbye to Caleb after all?

Emmerdale legend Lisa Riley has praised a former ‘powerful’ role which has been rediscovered by her fans.

The Mandy Dingle actress, 48, originally appeared in the ITV soap between 1995 and 2000.

She briefly reprised the part the following year, but wasn’t seen again in the Dales village until 2019. Appearing as part of a brief stint, she was then reintroduced as a regular character.

It’s now hard to imagine a time without the Dingle family’s madcap cousin, though Lisa has a number of strings to her bow.

From presenting You’ve Been Framed to waxing lyrical on the Loose Women panel, she’s been a constant on our screens for the last three decades.

For three years she starred in comedy drama Fat Friends as Rebecca Patterson, and played the recurring role of Tina Allen in Waterloo Road.

In 2017, she took on the part of Lorna Bowen in the three-part drama Three Girls.

The groundbreaking show, which garnered around 8 million viewers per episode, followed a dramatised version of the harrowing Rochdale child sex abuse ring.

In May 2012, nine men of Asian heritage were revealed to be guilty of the grooming, rape and sex trafficking of teenage girls in the Rochdale area between 2008 and 2009.

47 girls were identified as victims of child sexual exploitation, though allegations weren’t initially investigated in 2008, due to both the police and child protection services fearful of being accused of racism.

The case was the first of its kind to gain national attention, as it was the first successful prosecution for sex trafficking in the UK.

As of last year, a total of 42 men had been convicted resulting in jail sentences totalling 432 years.

The show was told from the viewpoint of three victims, with Lisa’s character being the mother of Amber Bowen (Ria Zmitrowicz) and her younger sister Ruby (Liv Hill).

As the real life case has made the news again recently – with the trial continuing at Manchester’s Minshull Street Court – the BBC has decided to repeat their series.

Lisa took to Instagram to recall her time filming the show, writing: ‘THANK YOU….so so so much for all your beautiful messages this week regarding “THREE GIRLS”

‘I love my job, feel so grateful to have been given the opportunity to play such a powerful role, it seems it’s been played each night this week on @bbc it’s available also on @bbciplayer on @appletv and also @primevideouk.

‘This is one of the most incredible pieces of television you could ever wish to be a part of, desperately proud of this one.

‘What a cast of beautiful, strong, independent women.’

One fan wrote: ‘I will never forget this!!! I always talk about this still! Heartbreaking but such an important drama – always be up there with one of the very best!!!’

Another added: ‘You were absolutely fantastic in this! I still remember the scene when they came to your door, and you told em! Absolute knockout!’

‘I watched this once and I was the same age as the girls at the time. Really shook me. I haven’t been able to watch it twice but refer to it often. Brilliant watch!’ said a third.

Shortly after Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) was told partner Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) had taken an overdose of drugs in Emmerdale, it didn’t take him long to decide his ex Ella Forster (Paula Lane) was responsible.

He arrived at Dale Head to confront her but during this moment, Chas’ engagement ring fell out of Ella’s bag. The troubled character admitted that she stole it out of jealousy and revenge, but definitely didn’t drug her enemy.

Sadly, because of Ella’s past, as much as she’s protested her innocence, no-one has really believed her.

Desperate to prove she wasn’t responsible, Ella concluded that Chas had developed a painkiller addiction and therefore overdosed on the tablets herself.

She put this theory to Liam, and planted a seed of worry in his mind when she said that he missed Leyla Harding’s (Roxy Shahidi) addiction to cocaine back in the day.

Liam previously noted to Aaron (Danny Miller) that if Chas had developed a reliance on her medication, her prescription would’ve run out quicker. As a result, it certainly suggests that Chas was spiked – but that doesn’t mean she definitely wasn’t responsible.

A new theory currently floating around among the Emmerdale audience is that Chas deliberately took the overdose herself, knowing she could accuse Ella afterwards and get rid of her.

‘I think it was Chas herself and she wants rid of Ella so perfect way to do it’, a user of a Facebook page speculated recently.

‘I said that last week, something doesn’t seem right’, another added, agreeing with the theory.

It would be an awfully dark twist if Chas revealed she conjured up the idea herself, just to see the back of Ella. But did she really do it?

Or was it someone else?

Another name at the top of the theory list right now is the mysterious John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth).

After opening up to Vic (Isabel Hodgins) about how he thinks Chas doesn’t like him, John was the first person to find her collapsed in the pub. He set about helping her and rushing Chas to hospital, but was this all part of a plan to look like a good guy?

If it was John, how will Chas and Liam react if they learn the truth before Ella leaves?

Caleb Miligan’s (William Ash) life is hanging in the balance in Emmerdale after getting stabbed.

Yesterday, Joe Tate’s (Ned Porteous) plan to get Caleb in surgery for the organ donation failed due to his associate Gina. She was meant to drug Caleb, but her idea went terribly wrong when Caleb accidentally spilt his spiked drink down his shirt.

Frustrated and desperate, Joe then called on the person who attacked Pete Barton and handed him a knife.

Shaun was hesitant in committing the crime but ultimately, he did as Joe asked. He stabbed Caleb and legged it, allowing Joe to drive up to the depot and help his uncle.

Joe pulled Caleb into his car and drove him to Doctor Crowley (James Hillier). When he saw the state Caleb was in, Crowley pointed out the risks of conducting the organ donation had now increased, due to the wounds Caleb sustained.

But with the chance to have a life-changing amount of money to his name, Crowley went ahead with trying to put Caleb in a stable condition.

The doctor eventually managed this, and arrived in the lobby to inform Joe that he was now ready for the next part of their plot.

Just as this happened, however, Crowley and Joe heard Caleb’s monitor beeping.

Meanwhile, at Mill Cottage, Ruby (Beth Cordingly) and Steph (Georgia Jay) were reconnecting by dancing to a song they listened to when Steph was a child.

As they enjoyed themselves, they remained oblivious to the fact Caleb had slipped into a condition where his life was at risk more than ever before.

Can Crowley save him, ready for the next operation?

What will happen next if Crowley and Joe have Caleb’s death on their conscience?

Emmerdale is rocked to the core as two lifeless bodies cause panic next week, as new spoilers reveal.

Later, with Liam in hot pursuit in the woods, a struggle ensues, with Ella left sobbing over his body…

Meanwhile, after more struggles with April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan), Marlon (Mark Charnock) returns home to find her in a bad way, with an empty bottle of ketamine beside her…

Monday March 31

Marlon tries to make April see he’s not angry, just worried about her, but their attempts to make up don’t go well. Before long Marlon finally admits it was him who framed Dylan for stealing the ketamine and April’s deeply shocked.

Eager to fix things Marlon shows her the letter that proves Dylan still cares about her. April rushes away and Marlon despairs he’s made things worse.

Dawn feels wretched by Billy’s genuine desire to fix things. At Home Farm, Kim deliberately engineer time for Billy and Dawn to be alone together. 

Nicola is on the campaign to secure Brenda’s cruise tickets for herself and Jimmy. 

Tuesday April 1

After successfully stealing from the veterinary surgery April escapes with a vial of ketamine.  When Marlon returns home he’s horrified to find April unconscious with an empty vial of ketamine beside her. Marlon secretly plants a tracking device in April’s coat.

Chas and Liam become increasingly concerned when Ella begins persistently messaging and calling them. John advises Liam to turn off his phone, and initially, things seem calm. 

Nicola is shocked when Brenda reveals she is going on the cruise alone, Nicola shifts tactics and tries to get herself on board as Brenda’s plus one, offering her support to Brenda. 

Things remain tense between Dawn and Billy at Home Farm, Kim persuades her to try and make things work. 

Mary tries again to win Vanessa over but to no avail.

Wednesday April 2

Ella escalates her harassment by seemingly sending an email cancelling Liam and Chas’ wedding.

Feeling desperate, Liam calls the police, but PC Swirling says they can’t act until Ella is found. The situation intensifies when Ella smashes a window, watching Liam and Chas board it up unseen. 

Rhona has discovered the tracking device and urges Marlon to give April the freedom she wants. Marlon is left with a decision to make. 

Dawn’s determined to work at her marriage when Kim orchestrates a day alone for her and Billy. Kim is relieved to see them seemingly back on track, but Dawn is secretly still hung up on Joe.

Thursday April 3

Ella confronts Mandy unannounced at home demanding to speak with Liam. When Mandy refuses, Ella takes her hostage with a knife, forcing Liam to come over.

She tries to convince Liam she’s being framed, and he attempts to trick her into confessing by pretending to get back together.  Realising Liam’s deception, Ella grabs the knife again.

Chas and Mandy arrive, and Ella flees with Liam in pursuit. In the woods, a confrontation occurs where Ella pushes Liam, causing him to fall and hit his head. Believing she might have killed him, Ella sobs over his body.

Friday April 4

Sarah offers Kammy a joyride in a sports car that’s in for servicing. After Kammy refuses, the customer comes over and accuses him of scratching his car.

Sarah is seething when Cain refuses to back him. When the customer then terminates his contract with the garage, Cain sacks both Sarah and Kammy. 

Gabby decides she needs alternative childcare to Kim, and is is thrilled by Vinny’s suggestion.

Belle is left reeling when Jacob offers to sell the wedding business to her.
